Is responsible for examination, management and follow-up of high-risk pregnancies and other women with special health needs referred to him/her by the Health Centre Medical Officers and provides feedback to the referring Medical Officers on management plans with respect to such women;
Examines and treats all women with gynaecological and/or obstetrical problems referred to him/her by the Health Centre Medical Officers according to a rotating work schedule prepared by the Chief, Field Health Programme and provides feedback on the outcome of care;
Maintains close coordination with hospitals in order to ensure feedback on highrisk pregnancies referred for delivery or special care;
Plans and directs the in-service training of medical and nursing staff on safe reproductive health practices and insertion of intra-uterine devices;
Participates in the organization and conduct of health services research relevant to maternal health;
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s)
