On-Call Driver (for Philippines Nationals Only) At International Committee of the Red Cross

The on-call driver will directly report to Logistics Site Manager. He will augment for the daily various transport request of different departments. He will serve as a replacement for drivers on leave.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives different types of ICRC vehicles (manual or automatic) while strictly following internal security rules and national traffic rules
  • Transports people and/or materials safely to their destination
  • Reports to the Logistics Site Manager any irregularities noticed in the vehicle, traffic accidents, security incidents or problems on the road
  • Ensures proper refueling and cleaning of vehicles
  • Loads and unloads goods on attributed vehicle
  • Assists colleagues with distribution of materials as required
  • Coordinates properly with relevant ICRC staff for movements in difficult security environments

REQUIRED PROFILE

  • At least 5 years’ professional driving experience
  • High school diploma or college-level education
  • Valid professional driver’s license for at least 5 years
  • Knowledge on vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Awareness of traffic rules and regulations
  • Good geographical knowledge of Zamboanga City and other locations in Mindanao province.
  • Good English comprehension and communication skills; Knowledge of Chavacano or Bisaya an advantage
  • Awareness of, and respect for, professional and institutional ethics, particularly with respect to confidentiality
