Organisational Culture Assessment and Team Building At World Wide Fund For Nature

  1. Background

WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) Zimbabwe strives to build and maintain a healthy, unified, and focused working environment for its employees through a strong organisational culture. To support on-going efforts in creating the right culture that motivates everyone to do their best work, WWF plans to conduct an organisational culture assessment. This will lead into designing and implementing a subsequent team building exercise based on recommendations from the assessment.

  1. Objectives

The objectives of this assignment are two fold and include:-

  1. Conducting a comprehensive organisational culture assessment/audit for WWF Zimbabwe. The culture audit will provide an opportunity to understand the current organisational culture, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  2. Developing and implementing the subsequent team building activities to enhance staff cohesion and collaboration based on the organisational culture assessment findings.
  3. Scope of Work
  • A kick-off meeting with relevant WWF staff members, designed to provide the Consultant with the context for the tasks and documents to be reviewed.
  • Review existing organisational documents, policies, and procedures to understand the current culture and values of WWF Zimbabwe.
  • Conduct interviews and surveys with staff members at various levels to gather insights and perceptions on the organisational culture.
  • Analyse the gathered data to identify key themes, patterns, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare a comprehensive report summarising the culture audit findings, including recommendations for fostering a positive work culture.
  • Develop and facilitate team building activities that align with the organization’s goals and objectives and recommendations of the organisational culture assessment.
  • Provide guidance to the management team in implementing culture-related changes.
  1. Deliverables
  • An inception report for the organisational culture assessment with detailed work plan, methodology and costs.
  • A detailed culture audit report that includes an analysis of the existing culture, strengths, weaknesses, and actionable recommendations.
  • Proposal for team building activities, including a plan with objectives, schedule, and implementation guidelines.
  • Materials and resources for conducting the team building activities.
  • Ongoing support and guidance throughout the implementation phase.
  • Report back meeting with staff to validate the findings of the organisation culture assessment.

5. Timeline

  • Preparatory, data gathering and analysis 5 days
  • Team building activities implementation 4 days
  • Report preparation and recommendations 2 days

The consultant will treat all information obtained during the project with utmost confidentiality, adhering to data protection and privacy practices.

7. Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in fields such as organisational development, psychology, human resources, business management or a related field;
  • Experience in team development or team building roles including conducting assessments, facilitating team interventions
  • Deep understanding of group dynamics and organisational behaviour
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills are critical
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
