The Global Legal Services department oversees PSI’s legal affairs around the world. We are a small but mighty team; this is a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a global team.

PSI seeks a Paralegal, Legal Services that will provide wide-ranging support to the General Counsel and Global Legal Services department. This role will conduct research, investigate issues, assist in the preparation of legal documents, and liaise with local and external counsel. The Paralegal will also maintain a file system for legal documents and assist or lead on special projects in close collaboration with General Counsel.

Responsibilities****Your contributions

-Provide support for knowledge management activities, including formatting and managing contracting templates, trackers, reports, tools, project plans and presentations. Maintain and update the Legal Services SharePoint site. Maintain and update files and trackers related to matters requiring external legal counsel. 30% of Time -Support General Counsel by gathering, organizing, preparing, tracking, and updating legal documents, filings, and communications for various matters such as litigation, investigations, government filings, registrations, know-your-customer due diligence, and corporate governance. 20% of Time -Help format, prepare, review, and revise powers of attorney, intercompany, and external contracts. Assist with preparing supporting documentation, amendments, and coordinating execution. 20% of Time -Oversee general administrative operations for the Legal Services department. Manage the Legal Services email account and calendar, respond to or escalate ad hoc requests for information or support, submit invoices for payment, review monthly reports, schedule and plan meetings or trainings, and draft general communications with the General Counsel. Liaise with external legal counsel and key legal counterparts. 10% of Time -Consult with local counsel on various matters and serve as a liaison between PSI entities and local counsel. 10% of Time -Conduct moderately complex legal research using databases and other sources and write memoranda on findings. Assist and sometimes lead special legal projects and update major departmental processes and procedures to create operational proficiencies. 10% of Time

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

-Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in Law, International Relations, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant at a law firm, government agency, or in a corporate legal department. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted. -Paralegal Certificate preferred. -Solid knowledge of helping to manage corporate governance matters, entity management, and/or commercial contracts. -Basic knowledge of laws and regulations, such as federal government contracting, non-profit, and international laws, related to PSI’s operating environment preferred. -Strong research and investigative skills. Able to find, evaluate, and present useful information related to a specific topic. -Proficiency in MS Office and O365 (Word, Excel, PPT, SharePoint, and Teams) and demonstrated experience with more advanced functionality required. -Excellent time management, organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail and timeliness. -Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines, prioritize and meet deadlines in ambiguous and fast-paced global environments. Able to work independently in a remote environment. -Excellent grammar and communication skills, both verbal and written. Fast and accurate typing skills. -Able to maintain complete confidentiality for sensitive issues and information. -Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to think creatively and approach tasks or problems in a new or different way. -Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. -Experience in global organization and/or non-profit organization preferred.-Proficiency in second language (French, Spanish and/or Portuguese) preferred.
