Partnership and Events Manager, USAID/Thailand PAGI At DAI Global

Project Background

The USAID/Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) Partnerships for Green Investment (PAGI) Activity will accelerate the transition in the land use sector across Southeast Asia to greater emissions reductions, climate resilience, biodiversity protection, inclusiveness, and benefit sharing. The Activity will advance systemic change in agricultural, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU) systems in the region to reduce carbon emissions at meaningful scale through inclusive and sustainable approaches, enabling the regional transition to net zero climate-resilient economies. The three objectives of PAGI are to: 1) increase sustainable and scalable investments in low emission land use, biodiversity conservation and climate resilience in AFOLU supply chains; 2) adopt and/or implement credible environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards for low emission, biodiversity conservation, and resilient investments; and 3) enhance inclusive and equitable benefit sharing to local communities and smallholders. Partner countries include Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Position Purpose

The Partnerships and Events Manager will work closely with the Deputy Chief of Party and other team members in developing and implementing partnership activities with regional platforms, private sector firms, and others to advance PAGI objectives. The Manager will serve an important role linking technical and communication aspects of the activity, including organizing events (online and in person) and developing knowledge products and learning initiatives The Partnerships and Events Manager will connect with regional platforms and partners to cultivate collaborative relationships for shared activities and events to highlight lessons learned, share knowledge and experiences, generate new partnerships, and build momentum to meet PAGI’s objectives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Partnership Management

  • Establish and manage relationships with regional platforms involving climate finance and AFOLU themes for the organization of shared events.
  • Hold remote and/or in-person forums, dialogues, and events with key stakeholders at the regional and industry levels to support advancement of PAGI’s objectives.
  • Work closely with the operations team to develop and manage relevant engagement activity budgets, maintain updated partner/collaborator profiles in PAGI’s partnership database and reporting system or for other reporting purposes as required.
  • In collaboration with PAGI technical staff, help develop concepts and implement webinars and learning events for activity stakeholders.
  • Participate in consultations and discussion for potential new engagements with prospective partners.

Events and Learning

  • Represent the project at events and meetings as required and liaise with relevant stakeholders, including institutional and private sector partners, to increase visibility and maximize coordination.
  • Manage and design programmatic events, learning forums, and initiatives including drafting event workplans, conducting relevant background research, and conducting pre- and post-event documentation.
  • Coordinate participant registration in relevant events, dialogues, discussion forums/blogs and distribution of learning materials and tools.
  • Support coordination regarding outreach, distribution and external dissemination through maintaining PAGI’s network database.
  • Coordinate with PAGI’s MEL/CLA Director to identify partner platform and private sector learning opportunities aligned with PAGI’s Learning Agenda and incorporate them into learning capture.
  • Contribute to regular client reporting and participate in pause-and-reflect sessions to improve and adapt project processes, workflows, and/or approaches in coordination with other PAGI team members.
  • Design and implement events and workshops that promote learning and sharing among PAGI’s target audiences.
  • Track data on event participation in coordination with the activity’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Director
  • Participate in annual workplan events and sector learning activities and help support organization of these events as necessary.
  • Work with the DCOP and other staff to ensure quality event materials.

Qualifications

  • Mid-level professional with at least eight years practical experience in partnership development and event management, ideally in a relevant technical field
  • Degree in communications, administration, business, project management, international development, or related field.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with a range of event and outreach formats, including in person and remote, along with associated data collection, IT tools, database management, communications, and reporting metrics.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with cultural contexts across Southeast Asia.
  • Experience designing tools for communicating with a range of stakeholders, including private sector investors and companies, AFOLU supply chain actors, civil society, donors, communities, and others.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong writing, analysis, and presentation skills in English.
  • Ability to travel within the Southeast Asia region; position may require some evening and weekend hours.
