Partnerships and Communication Manager At IMPACT civil society research and development

General Description of the Organization:

IMPACT – Civil Society Research and Development e.V. , founded in Berlin in 2013, is a non-profit civil society organization with offices in Iraq, Turkey and Syria. Civil society support is the core of IMPACT’s mission through long-term and balanced support to individuals and organizations in the conflict and developed countries. IMPACT’s main areas of intervention are capacity building, research, peacebuilding, and diaspora engagement.

Job purpose:

The role of the Partnerships and communications Manager is to develop relations and partnerships with donors and partners with IMPACT as well as promoting IMPACT’s values and engagement, across its different areas and domains of work

The Partnership and communication manager will be responsible for creating and managing an efficient system to identify and develop new funding opportunities.. The post holder will also work on coordinating the development of the annual funding strategy, developing an engagement plan across members, donors, implementing partners and with the larger public, and

The Partnerships and communication manager will help the team to better present IMPACT to the public by developing a communication strategy and ensuring it is been followed and implemented, will also advise and support the IMPACT Research team on their outreach strategy,

Duties, objectives and competencies:

Grants Management, Compliance, and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain grants management tools, such as funding trackers, reporting calendars, templates, and compliance guideline documents; and management of database of proposal documents and project information.
  • Identify new fundraising development opportunities and opportunities for partnerships on applications. Building a database of donors and Tracking up-coming funding opportunities, donor engagement and proposal development schedules
  • Responsible for the development of proposals and applications for new and continuing projects, including writing the main body of proposal/concept notes and communication with the donors
  • Drive interdepartmental coordination for programme and proposals development. Effectively manage collaboration amongst respective technical departments and implementing /consortium partners, when preparing concept papers and project proposals
  • Reaching out, negotiating and contracting grant-writers when necessary, and delegating and supervising the proposal development to team members internally
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Programme/ Executive director on the status of the funding portfolio and key trends to monitor.
  • Work closely with executive director and head of departments to compile information required for high quality proposals
  • Review draft reports submitted from the programs team and provide technical support to improve on the quality o, coherence and completeness of the reports. upon request Quality review technical aspects of the narratives and logframes and ensure complementarity with budgets and other deliverables
  • Coordinate Value for Money calculations in proposal development, as required by donors

Communications and Partnerships

  • Develop communication plan for IMPACT and IMPACT research, in consultation with the programs and management teams
  • Publish updates on the website and social media outlets on projects and oversee the communication officers and interns publishing
  • Work closely with Executive Director and program director to maintain high quality and up-to-date external communications and publications about IMPACT projects and achievements
  • Manage and oversee the administration of communication outlets and licenses on websites …etc
  • Advise on advocacy opportunities and maintain a database of media outlets
  • Represent and organize the representation of IMPACT in different fora and venues in coordination with the executive director

Coaching and Management

  • Help to prioritize partnerships and grants functions and tasks, training and coaching members of support departments on developing proposals and support documents on higher standards
  • Proper hand-over of proposal documents and donor guidelines to the project management, leading the kick-off meetings of projects and sharing all necessary information and documents to the respective departments (Finance, M&E, capacity building …etc)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields, MA is preferred.
  • Previous INGO work experience or leading LNGO with increasing responsibility
  • Experience with institutional donors (i.e. DFID, OFDA, ECHO, GIZ, UN , EU agencies)
  • Proven track record in report-writing and proposal development, mainly developing logical framework, theory of change and similar tools
  • Background in communication and public engagement
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with multiple parties and external stakeholders
  • Sound judgement and ability to make impartial recommendations
  • Fluent English language skills (spoken, written and reading)
  • Hard-working, proactive and able to prioritise and delegate a demanding workload
