Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization based in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. BDF currently provides access to education, health, and child protection services to more than 1,650 vulnerable children living in urban slums and construction site camps in Thailand. Through its direct service provision programs and systemic impact strategy, BDF protects and empowers marginalized children and their families to become more self-sustainable, and provides opportunities for a better future.

Job Description

Job Title: Partnerships Coordinator

Type of Contract: Full-time position of 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Department: Partnerships

Location: Chiang Mai, Thailand (with possible occasional trips to Bangkok)

Expected Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

BDF is currently seeking a staff member to help expand and support its partnerships and fundraising. This position will work within the Partnerships Team at BDF, under the direct supervision of the Partnerships Manager, based in Bangkok. The main responsibilities of this role include the following:

Partnerships Team support:

  1. Identifies and researches new potential institutional, corporate, government, and other funding prospects that align with BDF’s organizational vision, mission, and strategy.
  2. Maintains prospect database (Salesforce) and robust pipelines of new potential funders.
  3. Authors Letters of Intent (LOIs) and full grant proposals, and collaborates across teams to gather and include relevant inputs and necessary data into each proposal. Ensures that BDF’s proposal submissions comply with all proposal parameters and detailed requirements for each funder.
  4. Produces high quality donor reports and collaborates across teams to gather and include relevant inputs and necessary data into each report.
  5. Supports grant management activities for secured grants, including documenting and communicating reporting requirements, tracking correspondence with donors, and keeping up with donor reporting requirements and action items.
  6. Acts as the steward for main donors and partners; is responsible for all timely communication with these donors.
  7. Serves as the focal point for Partnerships in Chiang Mai, working closely with the Partnerships Manager to ensure smooth and cohesive coordination and communication amongst Chiang Mai and Bangkok offices.
  8. Represents BDF during partner visits to the Chiang Mai office by welcoming visitors and introducing BDF’s work as needed. This includes presenting information on BDF programs and activities, providing office tours, and organizing and participating in field visits.

Other:

● Supports BDF’s field programs by participating in field activities throughout the year.

● Works closely with the management team in the development of requested communication, financials, activities, etc.

● Supports the promotion of a constructive and productive working environment among the team. Actively supports information sharing, transparency, and dialogue among all staff members and with beneficiaries of all projects.

Required Skills

● Excellent/native command of English (written and oral)

● At least 2 years of experience in grant management and fundraising

● Flexible and able to multitask

● Able to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment

● Efficient organizational and project coordination skills

● High level of communication and teamwork

● Highly motivated to bring innovative solutions, to lead and to achieve social impact

● Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace, familiarity with Dropbox

● Knowledge of CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) is an asset

Other Requirements

Nationality: Any, preferably already based in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Qualifications: Excellent writing skills with experience in writing grant proposals and fundraising.

Experience (Preferred): Experience with children (or for an organization that supports children) is considered an asset. Ability to work and live in a multicultural environment. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and creative, as well as flexible and independent in their work ethic.

Remuneration: To be defined based on experience and qualifications, work permit and visa provided**

Language: Excellent or native level proficiency in English, Thai as an asset

Other desired skills: Ability to drive a motorbike, or ability to learn

Working hours: Full time – Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and evenings**
