Partnerships Manager At Oscar M. Lopez Center

The Center is seeking a Partnerships Manager that will lead the strategic development and management of the Center’s network and stakeholder relationships, towards increasing the reach and impact of the Center’s programs and products, as well as develop collaborative initiatives with partners and collaborators. Working closely with the Center’s other core programs, the Manager will contribute towards the growth and sustainability of the organization by expanding its network, securing funding opportunities, and facilitating partnerships that align with the Center’s mission and objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Partnerships Manager will primarily lead the implementation of the Partnerships
Unit working in coordination with the Programs Director, other Unit Managers and staff, will
execute the functions of the Partnership Unit, its programs and activities, as well as other
relevant Center activities.

The following are the specific duties and responsibilities of the Partnerships Manager:

Partnerships and Network Development & Management

  • Manage new and existing partnerships, collaborations and relevant external stakeholder relationships;
  • Strategically identify, develop and manage new and emergent partnerships and collaborations in coordination with other Units, which also includes:
    • Mapping actors and stakeholders, and when periodically needed, leading the initiative to conduct a comprehensive landscape scan and analysis of the OML Center; and
    • Assessing, evaluating partnerships for retention and impact.
  • Create, coordinate, and or/co-organize opportunities for collaboration such as meetings, events and activities in relation to the aforementioned partnerships and collaborations; and
  • In collaboration with other Units, develop proposals, concept notes and other materials in relation to aforementioned partnerships and collaborations.

Resource Mobilization

  • Develop a resource mobilization strategy and proactively seek external funding opportunities, which include prospecting funders;
  • Participate in proposal development for external funding, which include coordination meetings and partnership activities;
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Center’s existing externally funded grants

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the Center’s institutional relations officer and key point of contact, in assistance to leadership in their role as Center ambassadors and spokespersons;
  • Represent (as needed) and facilitate the Center’s participation in networks and events, which include assessing sponsorships and other strategic opportunities;
  • Lead the planning and implementation of the Center’s annual partnership event;
  • Collaborate and coordinate effectively with the Center’s internal stakeholders to ensure the partnership needs of the different units are being met; and
  • Uphold the Center’s integrity and reputation through effective and timely management of partnerships and collaborations throughout their lifecycle.

Partnerships Unit Management

  • Manage and monitor Partnership Unit’s staff and budget;
  • Lead the unit’s operational planning, mid-year, year-end reviews and work towards ensuring the timely accomplishment of unit targets and goals;
  • Develop and review partnership instruments in relation to the aforementioned partnerships and collaborations, as well as monitor such instruments throughout its lifecycle to ensure partnership milestones and agreements are met;
  • Develop and update relevant policies, frameworks, guidelines, templates etc.; and
  • In accordance with the Center’s data privacy policies, support the management and enhancement of the Center’s centralized database of contacts.
