Job Purpose and Background:
The SBTi is looking for a People and Culture Officer that will support the people needs and culture of the SBTi that includes recruitment and hiring process, talent retention, staff performance, and evaluation, implementation of protocols, organizational work culture and values.
The colleagues working on the SBTi, are hosted by our partner organizations within a unique matrix for HR and line manager functions. This diverse connection enables bright and talented employees from different partners to collaborate on the important work of enabling the world’s biggest and most impactful companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets.
As part of the People and Culture team, you will be instrumental in supporting our employees’ needs, ensuring that information flows well, our partners and SBTi HR functions are aligned, and that the daily People and Culture topics are well monitored and processed efficiently.
About you:
People and Culture to you is more than just HR Handbooks, the ultimate goal is supporting them to be well and engaged for their best work. As a natural integrator and project manager, you know the best way to support people is with a diplomatic and efficient style.
You enjoy candidate, stakeholder and project management and are comfortable working in a fast-paced international team that requires multi-tasking and frequent coordination with numerous organization offices across the globe. You are comfortable working independently and remotely, but also enjoy being a team player and working to unite a virtual, international team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitate and distribute information between managers, employees and partner HR organizations (WWF, WRI, CDP, UN Global Compact) for HR processes and administration i.e.: performance reviews, salary and title guidelines and protocols
- Assist in the creation and implementation of internal protocols and policies related to daily operations and human resources
- Facilitate the hiring process inside the SBTi and with our partner organizations
- Support in recruitment project management and candidate management
- Support onboarding and offboarding protocols and assist colleagues during the onboarding stage (general training on tools, introduction to the SBTi, general internal protocols)
- Help implement and manage culture and team building activities across the organization to improve collaboration and teamwork
- Ad-hoc HR-related tasks, as needed
Essential skills and experience needed:
- Expert English level both spoken and written
- Professional experience in human resources management
- Demonstrated experience implementing HR or people management topics
- Creates consistency in work and can prioritize multiple layers of topics with limited supervision
- Flexible and able to support a variety of needs and switch context frequently
- Enjoys working in an international and multicultural remote work environment
- Diplomatic, confidential and keenly aware of the sensitivity of the work
Desirable criteria:
- Experience using digital tools such as HRIS, Asana, Google Workspace, Slack, etc.;
- Experience with a distributed, non-employee other non-traditional workforce
- Complex project management experience
- Experience creating slides, Excel sheets and other reports
