Pilot Deployment Lead

Salary: $1,500/Month Stipend (USD)

Part-time, 6 months contract (with possibility of extension/promotion)
Fully remote with direct support to field teams

Context: EI works with the leading international humanitarian organizations around the world, including medium and small-size NGOs, helping them to modernize their services and empower the most vulnerable populations whom they serve. Our current engagements span across 5 continents and more than 10 countries (including Vanuatu, Kenya, Haiti, Ecuador). **

Description: The Pilot Deployment Lead is responsible for the smooth and successful field-level deployment and implementation of blockchain for social impact pilots in EI’s portfolio. They will be primarily focused on piloting the crypto-enabled blockchain applications and use cases,which enable the efficient and low-cost delivery of cash assistance to vulnerable and marginalized communities. The candidates with working knowledge of Spanish/French will be preferred.

Requirements: **

The position will require an understanding of project management processes, as well as a basic grasp of how international aid projects and programs are implemented. The candidates with working knowledge of Spanish/French will be preferred.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Pilot Project Manager and/or other team members to:

  • Promote, follow, and where necessary, iterate & update components that are central to pilot implementation and the sequencing of activities, such as the use of EI’s product methodology as a primary tool to develop and deploy pilots led by Emerging Impact and Partners
  • Maintain clear and updated work plans, timelines, and monitoring & evaluation frameworks for each pilot engagement, for internal and external (partner) use
  • Work closely with pilot partners, such as international and local NGOs and UN agencies, to ensure pilot activities are tracked and implemented on time, per the pilot timeline (including updating activities and timeline where required)
  • Support the setting of core pilot objectives, and development of monitoring and evaluation tools to use throughout the pilot process to track impact and progress.
  • Ensure that implementation of activities, partnerships, monitoring and pilot outcomes are aligned with with minimum standards for the delivery of cash assistance in humanitarian and development programs
  • Support and where possible lead and facilitate online trainings and activity preparation and/or review activities with pilot partners to ensure a smooth implementation process
  • Propose and develop systems and processes to capture pilot feedback from the bottom up, including from communities, local stakeholders, the pilot partner and technology partner involved in each pilot
  • Where possible, support the design and development of templates, training materials and tools to support pilot education and implementation
  • Provide timely support and guidance to humanitarian partners (NGOs, UN, Governments, Civil Society Groups) throughout the stages of pilot setup, design and deployment, including providing technical input to country assessments, feasibility analysis, and field planning to ensure pilot success
  • Contribute to research and learning pieces, such as case studies, detailing the outcomes and lessons/recommendations stemming from pilots **
