The Opportunity:
In This role is responsible for leading planning, management and delivery of CO policy, advocacy and Campaign milestones. The role will also be responsible for supporting specific policy and advocacy projects and events. He/she will play a critical role in ensuring accountability for results and a shared understanding of team priorities and deliverables across CO program.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- At least 4-5 years proven knowledge and experience of development and delivery of policy influencing, advocacy and campaigning strategies
- Experience of public campaigning in a corporate or an NGO environment, with proven record in successfully leading the development and implementation of successful advocacy and campaign strategies to achieve policy and normative change.
- Knowledge of the national and local level institutions and the way they function.
- Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind sets.
- Makes independent decisions and solves problems on new and complex issues, requiring creative and systems thinking to find best solutions.
- Experience of, and willingness to travel in, a broad range of project implementation areas in South Sudan and where necessary outside the country.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring advocacy strategies.
- Experience developing publications or communication materials for advocacy on different thematic areas of SCI work.
- Familiar with CSO civic space in South Sudan in relation to policy influencing and advocacy work
- A high level of computer literacy.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential;
- Good verbal communication skills, exercising good judgement as to when to refer something on; able to communicate professionally with a wide range of contacts; able to show tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Contribute to a high-performance ACCM Team and support the implementation of Save the Children’s Country strategy, ACCM ambition and strategy
- Commitment to Save the Children values, including willingness to abide by and enforce the Child Safeguarding policy
