We are now looking for a Policy & Advocacy Manager to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As a Policy & Advocacy Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of our ambitious advocacy strategy.

You’ll ensure the development of clear and proactive propositional strategies that influence decision-makers, the media, wider civil society and policy makers.

Alongside the Programmes & Policy Director, you’ll produce plans and activities to ensure we can achieve our mission and objectives.

Additionally, you will:

– Build strategic relationships among relevant networks and stakeholders
– Work with Partnership Teams to identify key advocacy opportunities, co-ordinate activities and maximise positive impact
– Work with the Communications and PR Manager to co-ordinate external messaging
– Partner with communications colleagues to develop press releases, media statements and reactive quotes
– Prepare information resources and briefing materials on key policy issues
– Collaborate with other World Vision entities to support clear policy aims
– Co-ordinate the review and dissemination of World Vision Ireland Organisational Policies

About You

To be considered as a Policy & Advocacy Manager, you will need:

– At least five years’ experience of working in policy, advocacy and/or research in a multi-cultural environment
– Experience of policy analysis and development
– Experience of the design and execution of advocacy strategies and projects
– Excellent political insight with a good understanding of the Irish parliamentary processes
– Knowledge of international policy-making and decision-making processes, especially in the EU, UN and other multilateral bodies
– Knowledge of foreign affairs and economic development
– A good understanding of campaigning, use of narratives and communications
– Strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills
– Confident communications skills with the ability to engage a variety of audiences

The closing date for this role is the 29th March 2023.

Interviews will take place in the World Vision Offices in Dublin on the 5th April 2023.
