Lifting Hands International is looking for a Professional Development Manager to start in Winter 2022 in Greece with a minimum six-month commitment.
About Us
Lifting Hands International operates a community center in Serres, a small city about an hour away from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. We work with a population of 1000+ refugees & asylum seekers at the local camps, providing regular aid distributions and a range of psychosocial support programs.
Role Profile
The Professional Development (PD) Manager works within the Community Engagement program of LHI Serres. The program focuses on the engagement of Community Members in the program planning & implementation, as well as the provision of continued learning opportunities for personal and professional development.
In close collaboration with the Director of Human Resources and the Community Engagement (CE) Manager, the PD Manager focuses on the strategic planning and development of the workshop and training curriculum for Community Volunteers as well as the broader Serres camp population. The role of PD Manager has been newly established and will support the development of the Community Engagement program, which has been started in its current form in June 2022.
Training Development
- Development of Trainings & Workshops e.g. Employability / Computer Workshops
- Expansion of Collaboration with Organizations on Community Engagement , Professional Development, Training Opportunities, etc.
Program Communication
- Development of Program Induction, Onboarding Process & Documents
- Design of informational material for workshops, training, etc.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- In coordination with the MEAL director, development of data collection techniques
- Implementation of effective monitoring measures for volunteer engagement and participant satisfaction
Safeguarding & Risk Reduction
- Development & Improvement of program-specific Safeguarding Policies, Procedures
- Planning and Conducting of regular Risks & Needs Assessments
Essential Criteria
- Proactive: Able to work well independently and without constant supervision
- Previous humanitarian experience, particularly in a Community Engagement role
- Previous experience in the provision of Professional Development / Employability Trainings
- Previous experience of people management
- Professional attitude, able to remain calm under pressure
- Able to work well in a large, multicultural team
- Minimum six month commitment
- Fluent English speaker
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of Greek / Arabic / Kurmanji / Farsi / French
- International Drivers License
- Understanding of the implementation of Psycho-Social-Support programs
- Potential to stay on the team for 6-12 months
