Professional Trainee Scheme – Jordan
If you are a graduate with exceptional communication skills and the motivation and commitment to be part of the next generation of ground-breaking humanitarians and development workers, then this programme is for you. The Trainee Scheme is designed to provide entry-level opportunities for people with less than two years’ NGO experience.
Applicants must be nationals of countries of the MEEE region and eligible to live and work in these countries.
The trainee scheme lasts for an initial 6-months and is composed of two integrated elements: learning and a work placement.
Trainees have a 6-month work placement where they gain hands-on experience in the sector within one of Save the Children MEEERO departments. This is complemented with tailored learning modules throughout the scheme which incorporate face-to-face classroom learning (COVID19 permitting), simulation training, experiential learning, distance learning and personal reflection as well as intensive academic study and the submission of written assignments in English. Trainees are supported by a coach throughout the scheme.
Requirements:
Essential
- A first degree from a recognized university, in a field relevant to the humanitarian sector.
- Between 6 months and 1 year (maximum) experience as an employee, volunteer or intern in development or humanitarian work.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Demonstrated interest and a commitment to a long-term career in the humanitarian sector.
- Ability to commit oneself for the full six months
- Nationality from the Middle East and Eastern Europe region.
Desirable
We are looking at individuals who have an interest in Non-governmental work in different fields
- Degrees in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Human resources, Finance, Awards and donors regulation, Public Health, Nutrition, International Relations, Law, Social Sciences, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)/ Water Engineering, child protection.
