Overview:

The position is dedicated to the Office of Sustainable Development (OSD) at USAID/Mexico. The Program Analyst is responsible for assisting with the management initiatives that include developing market-based solutions for better natural resource management and sustainable value chains. S/he will also provide program and administrative support, technical oversight and program management functions, and coordinate USAID activities with other US government agencies and US Consulates around Mexico at the direction of OSD leadership. S/he will work closely, and maintain strong working relationships, with key government and civil society actors within his/her assigned program areas.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

Deliverables

  • Organize, facilitate and contribute to activity design processes within the USAID/Mexico Office of Sustainable Development (OSD).
  • Provide technical advice and transfer knowledge to the OSD team, on agronomic issues, agricultural value chain strengthening, market systems, private sector engagement, draft scopes of work for evaluations/assessments as well as personnel contracts.
  • Train staff on all aspects of AOR/COR roles and responsibilities as well as develop materials, tools, and guidance to support new AOR/CORs.
  • Organize and coordinate OSD Community of Practice sessions.
  • Contribute to office documents and presentations required for items such as portfolio reviews, embassy/government briefings, trips, factsheets, public announcements and other internal and external events.
  • Participate in regular meetings to provide updates and integrate work into the broader office initiatives.
  • Develop OSD guidance to IPs.
  • Organize and maintain OSD files into proper folders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least three years of progressively responsible, professional-level experience in the development and implementation of projects and/or programs, specifically related to strengthening market systems, natural resource management, rural development, or sustainable agriculture with donor organizations, government institutions, diplomatic missions, or non-governmental development organizations.
  • Language Proficiency: Level IV (fluent) in English and Spanish language ability. Applicants will be tested if selected for an interview, if an equivalent test is not available.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or host-country equivalent formal education in a field relevant to the position, such as agriculture, economy, international affairs/development, environment-related sciences, or public policy/administration.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.

Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

The anticipated pay range for this position is 425 to 600 USD daily.
