ABA ROLI is looking for a person with competencies in the development of programmatic activities to fill the position of Programmatic Associate to perform functions in the Project ”Strengthening the Legal Representation of Workers and Unions in Mexico”.

This position is conceived with the purpose of joining a multinational project designed to support the improvement in the protection of the rights of workers and unions and thus, social justice. This purpose is aligned with the new Mexican legislation framed within the Treaty between Mexico, Canada and the United States of America (T-MEC). The main function is to support the technical assistance provided through the implementation of training for public officials, with the aim of strengthening their skills and promoting an efficient dialogue in this legislative context.

The successful candidate is expected to be based in Mexico City.

Job Description

Under the supervision and support of the Project Manager, the selected person will play a key role in providing programmatic support, including monitoring, evaluation and learning support, as well as government relations.

Responsibilities

· Participates in the development and implementation of activities related to inter-institutional practices.

· Maintains and updates project calendar, contacts, resumes/agendas and activity manuals.

· Assists in the design, development and presentation of technical reports.

· Supports the preparation of monthly and semi-annual reports to inform partners and donors regarding activities and produces communication products, reports, briefing papers and presentations on various topics.

· Contributes to the organization of project events and provides substantive and specialized technical information.

· Conducts research analysis and produces written products.

· Maintains and keeps records on the technical and financial progress of project execution.

· Serves as liaison with other areas of ABA ROLI and expert consultants.

· Promotes a results-based approach to monitoring and evaluation of activities, with an emphasis on impact and sustainability.

· Designs and applies data collection instruments such as course participant registration forms, satisfaction surveys, and knowledge tests.

· Supports communications with different areas to ensure that the project is implemented according to the established parameters or to make the necessary adjustments.

· Supports the preparation of meetings.

· Periodically requests information from various institutions either for programmatic activities or for monitoring and evaluation.

· Leads in the development of training curricula and in the selection of trainers to develop such curricula.

· Assists public servants to receive training.

· Provides additional support as needed and required by ABA ROLI Mexico.

Basic Qualifications

· University degree in the humanities.

· Professional fluency in Spanish (oral and written).

· Professional fluency in English (oral and written).

· Permit to work in Mexico.

· Strong interpersonal and group management skills.

· Proven experience with information management and data concepts.

· Have worked or supported in the area of Monitoring and Evaluation.

· Ability to research and analyze data from internal and external sources.

· Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to create and deliver effective presentations.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to elaborate and adapt the message to the audience.

· Strong coordination and management skills of the Project activities.

· Indispensable diplomatic skills.

· Implementation experience in one or more national or international projects.

Preferred Qualifications

· Work experience in governmental institutions, foreign embassies accredited in Mexico or Mexican embassies accredited abroad, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil associations (CA), implementing partners, donors or similar organizations.

· Information gathering skills.

· Have worked in a professional environment with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

· Dealing with suppliers.

· Previous experience in the position of administrative or programmatic assistant or associate.

· Knowledge in event management.

· Management of virtual platforms (social networks and virtual classrooms).

· Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data and information.

· High level of personal responsibility and proactive approach to tasks.

· Experience in liaising with a variety of civil society organizations and private sector actors.
