Program Coordinator – Innovation At Save the Children

Program Coordinator- Innovation focal | Quezon City (with occasional travel in South Central Mindanao and CaMaNa) | Fixed Term

Role Purpose:

The post is responsible for leading the delivery of results through the effective management of Innovation Initiatives of the Sponsorship Program, including proposals submitted and approved by SOLVE (Solutions Laboratory Venture for Children’s Rights), Innovation Accelerator, and other disruptive initiatives that are complementary and align with SCP’s Flagship Programs and the Country Strategy Plan. The post holder should be a skilled collaborator, building strong relationships and cutting through boundaries, in a fast-moving and dynamic environment. S/he will be the catalyst for innovation in Sponsorship using a human-centered design approach, providing on-demand innovation strategies. This role will lead the development of an innovation strategy, and strengthen both Sponsorship Program Quality and Evidence and Learning to capture evidence on what works to end inequality and discrimination

The post holder is primarily responsible for ensuring technical quality in the implementation of Innovation Initiatives and will lead in planning (prototyping and iteration), strategizing, and monitoring the development and/or modification of resource packages appropriate for the project, overseeing research components and data-driven decisions, and progress of implementation in relation to key performance indicators set forth. S/he is also responsible for building strategic partnerships (LGUs and private institutions) essential in scaling and sustaining innovations.

S/he ensures the adherence of program delivery and/or advocacy/campaign initiatives to SC’s technical and quality standards including its Child Safeguarding and Safeguarding Protocols. The postholder is the purveyor of innovation, finding new and effective ways of improving program delivery and implementing adaptive programming to respond to changing contexts/ situations in SCP’s areas of operation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience and passion in social innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Experience in innovation methodologies including human-centered design, user experience, co-design, and lean/agile methods
  • Understanding of policy, advocacy, research, evaluation, business, and finance
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, build, influence, and maintain strong working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives including programmatic, policy, and advocacy technical experts that may have low capacity in business and finance acumen.
  • Track record of storytelling, visualisation & prototyping of ideas successfully & efficiently
  • Knowledge of and proven capacity in any one of SCP’s areas of work (e.g. any of the thematic areas, capacity building, advocacy, and influencing, etc.);
  • Highly organized and is able to manage multiple and competing tasks, attend to details, prioritize deliverables and meet reasonable deadlines;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proven track record in preparing technical reports, concept notes, program proposals, and reports; strong presentation skills;
  • Good understanding of and demonstrated experience in a rights-based approach to development;
  • Proven ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders; good influencing and negotiation skills
  • Team player: strong listening skills, able to lead and motivate teams including cross-functional groups;
  • Understands and believes in SCP’s vision and mission; commits to its objectives and is willing to adopt SC’s framework and methodology;
  • Computer literate and adept in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other applications;
  • Willing to travel to any part of the country and be deployed for both humanitarian response and development programming.
