CSI was founded in 2016 with a focus on long-term peace building, as well as immediate protection and aid for communities affected by conflict. CSI program regions include northern and central Rakhine State, and the Rohingya refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh.

Duties and Responsibilities

Donor and Internal Reporting

  • Support drafting, information and data collection for narrative reports, reflecting the progress and status of projects in a transparent, timely and professional manner
  • Co-lead in finalize with Operations Director and Program Director and submit to Chief Executive Officer for approval.
  • Regularly update grants management tools including grant payment tracker and donor reporting timeline.
  • Ensuring finance and program teams are informed on required reporting inputs; disseminate required templates, instructions and support timely submission of reports
  • Follow-up with appropriate departments as needed for reporting inputs
  • Coordinate SITREP for both country programs; disseminate template monthly, ensuring departments/teams adhere to deadlines and compile reports for final dissemination.
  • Ensure monthly reports from all department (Program, Log, Finance and MEAL, Grant) are received and achieved for institutional memory.
  • Update donor reporting tracker, internal reporting tracker are in place and properly roll out.

Proposal Development

  • Under the guidance of Chief Executive Officer In close coordination with the Program Directors, Research Director, Program Coordinator of PCI, National Director and Operations Director , contribute to the development of fundraising documents (be it expression of Interests/ Concept Notes/ Proposals) in line with CSI country strategy and donor requirements; initiate drafting of such documents when requested
  • Perform research to support and strengthen proposal development (contextual updates, statistics)
  • Coordinate a proposal calendar and schedule for preparation and processing of required documents, representations and certifications, gathering documents from other departments as required
  • Schedule and take minutes during all funding kick off and closing meetings, and track action points for follow-up
  • Engage in quality control for proposal review.

Donor Compliance

  • Support Chief Executive Officer in timely follow-up to donor communication by gathering documentation to fulfill donor requests or drafting answers to donor questions, in liaison with relevant staff
  • Help fulfill grants support needs for both country programs by gathering and disseminating supporting documentation for grants-related requests
  • Help ensure adherence to all donor compliance and due diligence requirements by thoroughly reviewing contracts and donor guidelines
  • Support file-keeping of donor reports, proposals, etc.
  • Attend donor meetings when requested

Fundraising/Development

  • Support in analyzing the country’s donor landscape, trends, needs and gaps
  • Perform ongoing targeted research to identify, vet and prioritize potential funding opportunities from institutional, foundational and private sector donors
  • Create and maintain fundraising pipeline for current and upcoming year that includes opportunities from governments (bilateral and multilateral donors), foundations and the private sector
  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy aimed at outreach, engagement and retention of individual donors.
  • Identify appropriate online tools and platforms to facilitate fundraising goals and strategy.

Above duties not exhaustive, with other relevant assignments to be designed as appropriate.

Support and Coordination Role

  • Support CEO in development and execution of Program and Fundraising Strategy
  • Support CEO in strengthening coordinating between departments including monthly facilitation of monthly project management meeting and update (project workplan, budget follow up , risk matrix , stakeholder plan, MEAL Plan and indicator Plan , Procurement Plan and Recruitment Plan.
  • Work closely with regional Program and Coordination Support Officer in regional expansion strategy and advocacy plan.
  • Any other support functions to be carried out assign by CEO

Knowledge and Experience

  • Professionals already living in Myanmar will be given privileged consideration
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience related to humanitarian or developmental work
  • 1-year experience with proposal writing and grants-related functions
  • Strong writing skills and ability to edit with a critical eye to detail (English mother tongue)
  • Experience developing and/or contributing to organizational fundraising strategy
  • Ability to produce and edit documents under deadline pressure
  • Ability and willingness to learn and follow donor reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate funding proposals and progress reports from key institutional donors (UN Agencies, EU, USAID, DFID, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of key humanitarian principles and good practices
  • Ability to efficiently deal with competing priorities
  • Working knowledge of budget development and management
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting; experience in Myanmar context preferred
  • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving
