Program Manager – Antigua Guatemala At Help in Action

Position objective:

  • Ensure the implementation of the country strategy and contribute to the design and execution of the financing plan, ensuring the programmatic and financial sustainability of the programs. This will involve the consolidation of sectoral programs and the achievement and consolidation of strategic alliances that allow the development and growth of the national program.
  • Strategically consolidate country programs in coordination and support of sector specialists, with institutional approaches, policies and strategies. Contribute to the execution of the financing plan and the consolidation of alliances at the national and territorial level.

Main responsibilities:

  • Consolidate the country plan and ensure adequate strategic execution for programmatic sustainability.
  • Provide strategic advice to sector managers and/or specialists for the proper execution of the plan and consolidation of programmatic evidence.
  • Carry out continuous monitoring of the degree of progress of the strategy, as well as report status and corrective measures to general management.
  • Follow up on partners and programmatic approach in coordination with technical teams
  • Promote and promote compliance with transversal axes of the organization and country in all actions, publications and thematic axes of the national program: gender, age, generational change, indigenous population and women, all under the focus of attention to INEQUALITIES
  • Together with the MEAL manager, ensure a monitoring and evaluation system that is efficient and allows ensuring in quality and time all sources of verification of projects in execution and the evidence collection and capitalization approach.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization, analyzing with the country management the possibilities according to evidence, progress and programmatic consolidation in the different territories. This includes the mapping of new actors, strategic alliances, assessment of local partners.
  • Contribute to the consolidation of strategic alliances with government actors, the private sector and other actors that give added value to our work and contribute to the financing processes.
  • Support the country management in the positioning of the organization and with donors. Participating in achieving alliances in accordance with the business intelligence plan of the country office
  • Early identification of opportunities and participation in the formulation processes in coordination with the Country Management.
  • Represent Ayuda en Acción in the dialogue of projects with donors, government entities, local entities, academia, and the private sector; at the national and international level in coordination with the Country Directorate.
  • Together with the MEAL, promote field diagnoses, information on the territories, measurement indicators and processes that ensure the necessary information for the different formulations and consolidation of the national program and its connectivity with the regional program.
  • Dimension, together with the General Management, the human resources needs. (incorporations, promotions and dismissals)
  • Participate in the selection of key positions at the program level and in countries.
  • Support teams in planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes following the guidelines, approaches and tools established by Ayuda en Acción.
  • Promote, together with country management, a training plan for staff and partners for cross-cutting issues, MEAL and communication.
  • Promote with the teams the code of ethics, institutional principles and technical approaches that allow us to increase the quality of our interventions in the field.
  • Full availability to travel to the different departments of Guatemala, maintain coordination and connection with other countries in the region and with the different focal points at headquarters. Promoting exchanges of experience and the articulation of actions with country management.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience:

  • University studies and/or relevant demonstrable experience in International Cooperation, Social/Political Sciences and/or related fields
  • DESIRABLE: Postgraduate/master’s studies in topics such as: Planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects; Development and international cooperation; Human Rights and Gender; Risk management and/or climate change; Peace Building and Conflict Resolution and/or Environment
  • Minimum 03 years of previous work experience in similar roles
  • Minimum 05 years of previous experience in international cooperation organizations

Languages:

  • Essential: Spanish: C2: Professional, Native.
  • Highly valuable: English: B1: Intermediate, B2: Medium, C1: Advanced, C2: Professional, Native.

Geographical mobility

  • Yes, National and International.

Other requirements:

  • Windows (Advanced)
  • Valid driver’s license (vehicle), availability to travel to different areas of the country.
