The IRC’s Airbel Impact Lab designs, tests, and scales life-changing, cost-effective solutions for people affected by conflict and disaster. One of the IRC’s four global research and innovation priorities (GRIPs) is Last-Mile Education. In partnership with local technology providers and education providers, we have developed and prototyped two digital education platforms – aprendIA and AudioClass – to deliver flexible, student-centered learning and provide engaging learning experiences for students of all ages, teachers, and facilitators.
As these projects move into larger pilots and expand across additional contexts, the Program Manager, Digital Education will be essential in helping us develop these education platforms globally. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, imaginative hands-on problem solver with experience in agile management methodologies, pipeline building, tracking processes, and bringing successful products to market. This role will involve pilot planning, supporting the coordination of platform requirements, and collaborating with internal and external partners to provide broad project management support across our digital education portfolio.
Major Responsibilities
- Project Management: The main mission of this role is to support the building out and management of a pipeline of digital education projects, including being responsible for developing detailed project work plans and timelines.
- Ensure the successful execution of each project on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Support strategic growth planning: Work closely with the Digital Strategist to develop a global digital growth strategy for AudioClass and aprendIA, and build a compelling vision, and plan these platforms globally, in education and beyond.
- Support key research activities around the implementation of projects in both aprendIA and AudioClass. This includes partnering with our “Best Use of Resources” team to establish cost-efficiency models and benchmarks for pilot projects, and comparing advantages and disadvantages of the established projects and services in different contexts.
- Support the establishment of a process to onboard and implement upcoming projects.
- Assist with producing and writing project reports, donor stewardship materials and communication assets for projects.
Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
- At least 3 years professional experience in managing design and digital projects, or being part of teams that includes digital product design.
- Prior experience planning and delivering program or product pilot phases.
- Experience in humanitarian or development settings, governments, social consultancy or emerging markets, or building solutions with offline or low connectivity capabilities.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to visualize through graphics such as diagrams and storyboards in digital deck format.
- Comfortable in developing, organizing, and running co-creation sessions with users and team.
- User Experience and Service Design curiosity.
- Ability to present recommendations in plain, jargon-free language.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time.
- Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional distributed team structure.
- Highly proficient in Google Suite.
Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish highly desirable.
Work Environment: Full-time remote work – Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work during regularly scheduled work hours. Willingness to travel to fragile/conflict-affected contexts.

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
