Save the Children International is currently recruiting for a Program Officer (LINS). The Program Officer (LINS) will be responsible and accountable for effective and efficient implementation of the selected pilots under the Local Innovations for Nutrition Solutions project (Innovation Norway funding). The Local Innovations for Nutrition Solutions Project is a two-year project, part of the Response Innovation Lab Uganda portfolio that focuses on sourcing and testing innovative solutions to reduce malnutrition among refugees and host communities. It includes two field-testing locations: Rhino and Kyaka II settlements. One Programme Officer will be appointed in each location and work as a part of the Save the Children Nutrition teams.

The Program Officer will be responsible for field level implementation of the project, monitor performance of the selected project pilots implemented by innovation partners, ensure regular liaison with project partners and strategic stakeholders at district and settlement level and supervise implementation of activities by partners with support from the Nutrition Coordinator (field based) and Project Manager (Kampala based). H/She will ensure creative implementation of the innovation projects, adherence to technical and programmatic quality in implementation, timely and quality submission of all deliverables by the innovation partners.

To be successful for this role you will bring/have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Food Science
  • At least 2 years’ experience in nutrition program and community work preferably in a Humanitarian or NGO setting.
  • Experience in training of volunteers on nutrition programs.
  • Good relations with other people.
  • Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good writing and presentation skills
  • English fluency (verbal and written) required and local language (preferred)
