Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant – Maldives At Westminster Foundation for Democracy

WFD is looking for an experienced Programme, Administrative and Finance Assistant based in Male, Maldives to support the implementation of programmes.

The Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant will provide support to the Maldives team in the delivery of programme activities and assist to meet its objectives by ensuring an accountable and accurate approach to handling programme finances.

Under the direction of the Country Director, the Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant (PAFA) will provide administrative and financial support to the programme team, including managing and recording transactions of the local office for reimbursement, monthly bank reconciliation, and supporting administration affairs such as scheduling travel plans, systems, and processes management, contacting/contracting with suppliers. The PAFA will also be responsible for the accurate and efficient management of financial procedures, developing financial reports and for ensuring excellent communication on, and co-ordination of, important financial information such as forecasts and expenditures with stakeholders such as in-country donor representatives and WFD colleagues in London and abroad.

The core skills and experience we are looking for are;

​• A university degree in finance, accounting or business administration.
• Experience of, and excellent abilities in, accountancy and financial administration including management of cash flows, balance sheets, sizeable budgets (planning, monitoring, and reporting)
• 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role (finance or accounting)
• Experience in working with a international organization, international non-governmental organization or project based work is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Dhivehi, both written and spoken.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Self-motivated and effectively plan and organise own workload.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 suite of Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Dynamics)
• Ability to work with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team.
