Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) Intern At Save the Children

The Opportunity

Save the Children is seeking for intern applicants for a Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) Intern post in Istanbul. The PDQ Intern will report to the PDQ Manager, with support from MEAL Officer in coordinating day-to-day tasks. S/he will provide support to all team members; MEAL team, Technical Specialists and Safe Programming and Partnerships Coordinator, to ensure smooth and efficient running of the department in line with project needs.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • BSc/BA/BEng in Social Sciences, Computer Sciences, Statistics or related field
  • Computer literate (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office) and ability to do internet-based research
  • Working or academic knowledge in research, data collection, analysis, and information/database management
  • Fluency in English and Turkish (speaking, understanding, reading, and writing)
  • Strong organizational skills and discretion with confidential information
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with proven ability to handle challenging work load
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Farsi or Arabic language proficiency is highly desirable
  • Previous working experience (including paid internships) in NGOs/INGOs and/or previous experience working in humanitarian programmes in education and protection sectors are desired
  • Familiarity in qualitative data collection through focus group discussions and key informant interviews via child friendly methodologies and working knowledge of Power-BI or similar software is desired
  • Experience in working with children and adolescents, and particularly refugees is desired

Position holder will be based in Istanbul, therefore legal right to work in Turkey is necessary at the time of application. Applications are accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis.
