Functional Responsibilities
To achieve its goals and increased demand, UNOPSProgramme Office is looking for a Programme Management Intern. The UNOPSProgramme Office provides administrative support to all personnel under theprogramme. The team lacks a technical capacity to streamline substantivereporting and looking for an intern to assist with that and other admin supportactivities for a limited time.
Under the direct supervision of the ICTAssociate, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting tasksnecessary for the successful delivery of activities for the UNOPS ProgrammeSupport team. The intern will execute the following duties:
●Assist in thedevelopment and enhancement of reporting tool.
●Assist withcontent development and the delivery of communications materials.
●Support researchon innovation and related topics to inform content development.
●Work with theteam to prepare topics for asynchronous discussion that are relevant andengaging for the members of the Group.
●Perform any otherduties as may be reasonably required and in line with the incumbent’s scope ofservices above.
Monitoring and Progress Controls
In coordination with the UN Programme Office, the Programme ManagementIntern will assist in administration and reporting of programme deliverables andassure the timely deliverables of the agreed outputs. The Programme ManagementIntern is expected to exercise flexibility in the internship regarding thepotential of dynamically adapting working arrangements so that outputs can bedelivered.
●The intern will work on theassignment full time.
●This position isbased in Brindisi, Italy.
●Interns may beeligible for a monthly stipend from UNOPS provided that they do not receivefunds from other institutions. Further, UNOPS may provide a one-time travellumpsum. However, they must make their own arrangements for accommodation,travel and necessary visa arrangements.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education:
●Applicants mustbe enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program or be pursuing an advanceduniversity degree, such as a Masters, or be a recent graduate from such studies(within the last 3 years)
●To be eligiblefor this particular internship, the candidate must preferably have studied or be studyingtowards a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another relateddiscipline.
Experience:
●Interest in technology or engineering is a strong advantage.
●Abilityto work independently and collaboratively with a team is a strong advantage.
●Data analysis, visualization skills and proficiency ofrelated software applications (e.g. Power BI) are a strong advantage.
●Organizationaland coordination skills are an asset.
Language
●Fluency in English (write, read, speak) is required.
●Knowledge ofanother official United Nations language is an asset.
Other Requirements:
●While noprofessional experience is required for an internship, experience in the fieldof technology and basic administration is an asset.
