About the role
Sightsavers are currently seeking a Programme Supply Chain Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) who will be responsible for contributing to the effective delivery of supply chain services to the programmes of Sightsavers focusing on ensuring that the products that are used in our programmes are safe for end beneficiaries in line with international standards and regulations.
The successful QAM will ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) applicable to Sightsavers’ programme supply chain and associated standard operating procedures are followed consistently in line with organisational policy and product requirements, propose enhancements and provide solutions to a wide spectrum of complex issues related to quality management, supply chain, medical logistics and procurement.
The primary focus of the role will be ensuring compliance with the UK regulation for Wholesale Dealers’ of Medicinal Product (WDA (H) licence) and the EU guidelines on Good Distribution Practice (GDP) in support of our eye health, neglected tropical diseases, education and social inclusion programmes across the world.
About you
You will be required to have a very good understanding of global supply chain processes, as well as strong knowledge of medical products, preferably in the relevant thematic areas, and good knowledge of medical suppliers. In addition, the ideal candidate will have good knowledge of quality assurance applied to supply chain management and of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards in particular. You will promote a collaborative, client-focused, quality and results-oriented approach within the department, across international offices and organisational projects.
The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in all of the above in addition to medical logistics, products with “cold chain” requirements, recall directions and procedures and will be engaging with and visiting colleagues and suppliers on an international basis when possible, therefore national and international travel will be required a couple of times per year. Additionally, excellent written and spoken English is essential with French as an added advantage, as would experience and knowledge of international development and humanitarian programmes.
