Here at Action For Humanity (AFH), we are looking for Programmes Coordinator to join us at our International Office in Manchester. You will join us on a full-time basis and in return you will receive a competitive annual salary of £28,000 to £34,000.

As a Programmes Coordinator at AFH, you will be a key member of the Programmes team, ensuring the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of AFH’s projects internationally. You will focus on project implementation, financial oversight, compliance, and coordination with various departments to achieve high-quality, impactful programming.
You will collaborate with our team and stakeholders across the globe, supporting the delivery and development of inspiring projects and ensuring our campaigns run smoothly.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Project Implementation & Delivery
- Oversee the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of assigned projects in line with donor requirements, budgets, and organisational policies.
- Ensure programmatic and financial delivery of AFH’s key contracts and grants, ensuring compliance with funding agreements.
- Monitor project progress through field trips, regular communication with project staff, budget tracking, and donor reporting.
- Coordinate closely with finance, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project operations.
- Identify and mitigate risks, challenges, and delays, ensuring timely delivery of activities.
- Contribute to the building of new programmes and projects by supporting proposal development and funding applications.
2. Financial & Grant Compliance
- Be accountable for AFH’s compliance with all funding contract, grant, and agreement conditions, ensuring full adherence to donor regulations.
- Ensure financial transfers to field programmes are made on time, working closely with the Finance Department to track balances.
- Support the International Finance team in processing all grant claims and payments.
- Maintain files for all respective grants in line with established systems, improving the filing systems as necessary.
- Regularly conduct and where necessary lead internal audits to ensure documentation compliance and implement corrective measures if needed.
- Ensure all financial and programmatic reports for donors and internal stakeholders are completed accurately and on time.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)
- Facilitate the implementation of Project Cycle Management (PCM) in line with AFH’s Programmes Handbook, taking the initiative to improve and strengthen best practices.
- Carry out visits to field locations to assess project performance, ensure accountability, and strengthen impact measurement in support of the Programme Quality team.
- Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure strong monitoring frameworks, impact assessment, and lesson-learning mechanisms are in place.
- Regularly track and report on programme progress, supporting adaptive management to improve delivery.
4. Safeguarding, Policies & Compliance
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are incorporated into all grants and contracts.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and donor procedures, flagging breaches where necessary.
- Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, complete, and in line with donor and organisational policies.
- Contribute to developing and enhancing existing policies, procedures, and systems for programme implementation.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Institutional Partnerships
- Maintain highly effective relationships with project funders and strategic partners.
- Represent Action for Humanity in donor meetings, consortiums, and coordination forums.
- Develop and reach out to potential funding opportunities, working closely with the Institutional Funding Unit when required.
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure project visibility and fundraising alignment.
- Support the development of appeals and provide field updates for donor care and fundraising teams.
6. Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Ensure strong interdepartmental coordination, particularly with Fundraising, Finance, Donor Care, Marketing, and Communications & Advocacy.
- Support the orphan and family sponsorship programme, ensuring robust monitoring, evaluation, and accountability mechanisms.
- Provide field visit support for fundraisers, donors, and external stakeholders, ensuring security and compliance measures are followed.
- Facilitate cross-team planning and coordination to ensure organisational synergy, particularly during seasonal campaigns (e.g. Ramadan, winter relief).
- Assist in new office registrations when required, supporting expansion efforts.
- Support programme design, strategy development, and organisational growth in collaboration with senior leadership.
What we are looking for in our Programmes Coordinator:
Education
- Postgraduate degree in relevant field i.e. International Development
- Project Management qualification i.e. PMDPro (desirable)
Experience
- Experience of working in the charity sector in a similar role
- Experience and proven track record of managing contracts
- Experience and proven track record of programme and financial donor reporting
- Experience in budget management
- Experience of collaboratively working with remote teams
- Strong understanding of donor regulations, contract management, and financial compliance.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Experience working in fragile and conflict affected settings (desirable)
- Previous experience managing or supporting orphans or family sponsorships programmes (desirable)

Languages
- Fluent in English, verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Arabic is desirable
