About the role- what will you do?

We are seeking a Policy Officer/Project Officer to join the Refugee Hub’s small but powerful global team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Refugee Hub’s global strategy on pathways to protection and community sponsorship by leading our programmatic work in Poland. This will include working with Polish (local) government officials, civil society organizations and community members on new local integration frameworks and policies inspired by community sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Programme Management: Coordinating and managing the Refugee Hub’s work in Poland in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and local partners. This will include supporting the management of the program budget and reporting, carrying out monitoring and evaluation, and documenting learnings to inform future programme development.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining partnerships with local authorities and civil society organizations to advance community sponsorship pilot projects in different locations in Poland. This will include connecting different partners with each other to foster synergies not only within the individual pilot projects but also within the broader community sponsorship ecosystem.
  • Trusted Advice: Providing support to Polish leaders on policy design and stakeholder engagement, which will include the development and implementation of targeted workshops and events in collaboration with our partner organizations.
  • Briefings and Reports: Developing and drafting reports, briefing notes, proposals, and other written products.

About you – who are we looking for?

You should be a highly organized and self-motivated person who is a skilled project officer excelling at relationship management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. You should also demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, discretion, tact, and responsibility. We particularly encourage applications from qualified candidates with lived experience of forced displacement, migration, or with close personal and cultural connections to refugee communities.

  • You have a proven understanding of the relevant field which includes forced displacement, migration issues and politics, refugee protection, or related issues.
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. public policy, public affairs, political science, international development).
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Polish and can lead online and in-person meetings and give presentations online and offline.
  • You are great at organizing programs, events, and projects, so you can keep track of budgets, schedule meetings across time zones, coordinate people, and assign time and resources to tasks according to what is more important and urgent.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and have experience collaborating with people from different backgrounds, countries, cultures, and languages.
  • You can prepare compelling PowerPoint presentations and you are comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom, MS Teams, and SharePoint.

Location:

This remote position will be based in Poland and will work with a global team. Applicants contacted for evaluation will be asked to provide proof that they have the legal right to work in their country of residence. Maintaining such legal right to work in their country of residence is a condition of employment.

Contract:

  • One-year term contract (renewable for additional six months)
