Overview of position:
Within the Regional Programme for the Arab States to Prevent and Combat Crime, Terrorism and Health Threats and Strengthen Criminal Justice Systems in line with International Human Rights Standards (2016-2021), Sub-Programme III on “Strengthening Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice”, Our client is implementing the project “Leaving no Children Behind in Libya” through our client program office in Tripoli, Libya .
The project “Leaving no Children Behind in Libya” combines the strengths of the participating UN organizations Our client , Our client and Our client in an effort to support the national authorities to promote a child-friendly justice system for children in contact with the law, including those deprived of their liberty, within the framework of the UN Child Rights Convention (CRC) and other relevant international and national legal instruments. Within the framework of this joint programme, Our client will support the national authorities in facilitating the adoption of relevant policy and legislation to promote a child-friendly justice system in Libya. This includes support to promote the use of alternatives to detention and access to legal aid for children in conflict with the law.
With the mandate to make the world safer from drugs and crime, Our client is committed to support Member States in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Goals (SDGs) which draws together various elements into a comprehensive and
forward- looking framework and explicitly recognizes the interrelationship between sustainable development and the fight against drugs and crime, including promoting juvenile justice. Under the overall guidance of the ROMENA Regional Representative and the Deputy Regional Representative, the Incumbent of this position will support the implementation of the project “Leaving no Children Behind in Libya” and report to the Head of Our client Programme Office located in Tripoli, Libya.
Role objectives:
The incumbent will support the implementation of Our client project “Leaving no Children Behind in Libya. This will include: · Support the administrative and financial planning and logistical implementation of the project strategies and activities as outlined in the project documents; · Support the development of detailed work plans and accompanying budgets and budget revisions for all project activities for the timely and realistic achievement of the project objectives, and monitor expenditure per funding agreement; · Organize and oversee all procurement of services as per project activities and in line with UN procurement regulations and financial rules; · Monitor the issuance of payments for services procured and costs incurred for the purposes of the project; · Prepare and contribute to field missions and capacity-building activities, including the preparation of workshops and trainings under the project, and carry out logistical and administrative arrangements, including the preparation of travel requests and expense reports for meetings’ participants; · Translate short written outputs and communication from English to Arabic and vice versa; · Control and administer all project documents and maintain updated records for the different project deliverables and revisions; Carry out any other tasks as required.

Team management:
Consultant will work closely with all colleagues of the Our client Libya project team for this Joint Programme. He/She will also interact and work in close collaboration with other colleauges part of the Our client Libya Programme Office and Our client Regional Office for Middle East and North Africa (ROMENA).
Further information:
Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages are required.
Experience in handling web-based management systems is an advantage.
