Project Assistant At International Organization for Migration

Under the overall supervision of the Director, Coordinating Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission for Italy and Malta, and the direct supervision of the Integration Specialist, the incumbent will be responsible to support the territorial activities in the framework of the project “Integrazione in Sinergia”, aimed at improving the overall management and coordination capacities of the Prefecture of Caltanissetta, in synergy with private and public partners, to enhance the integration of migrants.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Support needs assessment and mapping of local services and initiatives for the socio-economic inclusion of migrants living and working in the Caltanissetta district;
  • Support the implementation of a specialised training programme for public (Prefecture, local health authority in Caltanissetta, municipal public services) and private (project partners, Third sector and the reception system) operators on access to social services, health services, labour markets and protection against exploitation;
  • Carry out, in close cooperation with project partners, informative sessions on topics such as labour rights, risk on labour exploitation and access to inclusion services;
  • Assist the Project Manager with the preparation of all relevant reporting documentation related to the project;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

  • High School Diploma with four years of relevant experience

or

  • Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience

Experience

  • ​​Experience in the field of migrants’ integration;
  • Experience in the capacity building of institutional actors;
  • Previous experience with international organizations, NGOs and/or EU Agencies would be an asset.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the Italian regulations and policies related to migrants’ reception and integration;
  • Knowledge of the functioning of the Prefectures’ role on migration governance.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and Italian is required (oral and written);
  • Working Knowledge of Arabic would be considered an asset.
