Role Overview
The Project Assistant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of Jouri’s research and evaluation projects. This includes supporting project design and implementation, liaising with stakeholders, and contributing to the strategic goals of the organization.
The position is fully remote, with an initial contract of 3 months, and the potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs. This role is a paid position, offering competitive remuneration.
The position is open across three specific areas:
- Business Support
- Programming Support
- Communication Support
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities (Applicable to All Areas)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local communities across regions such as the Middle East, Ukraine, and Sudan.
- Support M&E efforts by applying innovative methodologies and ensuring data collection is contextually relevant.
- Conduct data analysis and contribute to insightful, actionable reports and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Uphold Jouri’s values of inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence in all engagements.
Specific Responsibilities by Focus Area
1. Business Support
- Support business development cycles including proposal development, partnership building and client management.
- Coordinate with international and local teams to ensure effective resource utilization.
- Update and maintain both internal and external contact base of both clients and consultants.
2. Programming Support
- Design and deliver programmatic deliverables aligned with client objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress using Jouri’s innovative methodologies.
- Provide technical support across key sectors as relevant to project needs.
3. Communication Support
- Develop internal and external communication strategies to highlight Jouri’s impact.
- Draft and edit deliverables, presentations, and communication materials for diverse stakeholders.
- Support Jouri’s online presence, including website updates and social media engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience or strong interest in research, evaluation, or program delivery in humanitarian and development contexts.
- Familiarity with conflict and emergency settings such as the Middle East, Ukraine, Sudan.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as Arabic, Ukrainian, or French are an advantage.
- Ability to work remotely with flexibility for occasional travel.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of M&E methodologies and practices.
- Background in key sectors such as peacebuilding, livelihoods or multi-sectoral programming.
- Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, or international development agencies.
- Familiarity with tools for project management and data analysis (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
