Project Coordinator 50% full time position At Bread for the World

Start of contract: 01.04.2025 (local contract with a term until 31.08.2028)

The Project Coordinator’s job is focused on coordinating a European Union project in Honduras and another project with external funding yet to be acquired.

The area of ​​responsibility of the position includes:

  • Overall coordination of a complex EU-funded project in Honduras and another externally funded project to be acquired, in particular support to local partner organisations in implementation, in accordance with contractual agreements and funding guidelines of the EU or respective donor.
  • Overall coordination, management and supervision of project activities and cooperation between all participating partner organisations and service providers.
  • Communication and ensuring submission of narrative and financial reports in accordance with the contract to the relevant EU delegation or the respective donor.
  • Organization of planning, monitoring and control meetings and ongoing training measures for partner organizations
  • External representation of the project and Brot für die Welt before donor organisations, relevant civil society networks and politics.
  • Application for external funding together with local partners in accordance with donor and BfdW standards, as well as preparation of internal documentation for authorisation, verification and evaluation of the organisation.
  • Close collaboration with regional managers and other working units in Brot für die Welt to ensure coherence in cooperation with partner organisations within the Central American region
  • Collaboration with internal working groups and management of experience and knowledge in the field of acquisition and execution of third-party funds at Brot für die Welt.
  • Networking with donor organisations and relevant networks of non-governmental organisations.
  • Promoting the communication of third-party fund projects with public impact in collaboration with project communicators and public relations.

You meet the following requirements:

  • Completed university studies or comparable qualification in the relevant specialty
  • Several years of professional experience in development cooperation
  • Experience and knowledge in applying for and implementing development projects financed with third-party funds, preferably from the European Union
  • Good knowledge in planning, monitoring, accountability and results-orientation of development projects
  • Responsibility, great initiative, teamwork orientation and sense of humor
  • Ability to work autonomously, flexibly and punctually under time pressure
  • Great communication skills and gender and intercultural competence
  • Willingness to travel abroad
  • Language skills: Spanish and English at negotiation level, knowledge of German is an advantage

We offer you a part-time local contract with a competitive salary between USD 1,526 and USD 1,627 gross employer salary (according to our salary schedule), flexible working hours (with one day of teleworking per week) and 20 days of vacation/personal enjoyment in an international work team.
