Solthis – Therapeutic solidarity and initiatives for health – is an international solidarity organization, working in the field of health in Africa. Project Coordinator DSSRAJ LAHIYATA

CHALLENGES
Present in Niger since 2004, Solthis led from 2016 to 2022, in partnership with the Directorate of Adolescent and Youth Health of the Ministry of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs, the NGO Equilibres et Populations and the national CSO Lafia Matassa, a project to promote sexual and reproductive health among adolescents and young people (SSRAJ) in Niger (JADES project, Youth and Adolescents in Health) by working to strengthening both the supply of SSRAJ services and the demand from adolescents, but also to strengthening the capacity to act and empowering young people.
The LAHIYATA project which is the subject of this publication draws on this expertise and lessons learned to improve access to information and services on the Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Health of Adolescents and Young People (DSSRAJ) in school and out of school. in the regions of Niamey and Maradi.
The project will operate on 4 axes:
- Strengthening the power to act of young people and adolescents in school and out of school
- Strengthening the provision of comprehensive, quality SSRAJ services focused on the specific needs of adolescents and young people
- The organizational, technical and material strengthening of Lafia Matassa (LM) for the implementation of the project and ensuring its sustainability
- Promoting the voice of adolescents and young people on subjects relating to DSSRAJ including Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Solthis is looking for a Project Coordinator who can guarantee the quality implementation of the intervention, support our partners in all aspects linked to the promotion of DSSRAJ and supervise the implementation operational and budgetary aspects of this project (tasks relating to project management).
SPECIFIC MISSIONS
The Project Coordinator, based in Niamey, placed under the hierarchical responsibility of the Director. rice Country.
The DSSRAJ Project Coordinator:
Is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and achievement of project objectives according to Solthis standards:
- Implementation of activities according to the timetable defined contractually with donors
- Donor reporting according to the modalities and rhythms defined by Solthis and the donors
- Development and implementation of the project Monitoring & Evaluation plan
- Relations with technical and financial partners
- Advocacy / Capitalization / Communication
Leads and supervises the project team, ensuring the quality of the actions carried out
- 1 medical manager
- 1 midwife
- 1 Project manager
Ensures budgetary management of the project, compliance with the administrative and financial procedures of Solthis and donors and the proper use of mission resources by being involved in internal control
Ensures compliance with safety rules by its direct collaborators
Contributes to the search for co-financing and the development of new projects within its scope of expertise.
Required profile
Initial training
You hold a higher level Master’s degree in a relevant field: public health, social sciences, project management, development
Experience :
You can demonstrate at least 6 years of experience in the field of health projects with institutional funding or at least 3 years in project coordination .
You have solid experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly adolescents and young people, and are capable of working to deploy innovative actions in the health and institutional context of Niger, with CSOs.
Work experience in Niger is an asset.
Qualities & Skills:
You master the concepts of:
– the health project management cycle;
– operational and budgetary planning and management;
You communicate in French with ease both orally and in writing and are recognized for your listening skills and your diplomacy
You benefit from a very good capacity for analysis, synthesis and team animation and management;
Others: You have mastery of IT tools, in particular the usual software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, etc.).
REMUNERATION
Salary is defined according to contractual status: National or International, and the Solthis salary scale
