Project Coordinator – Lebanon At Access Center for Human Rights

1. ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Job title: Project Coordinator
  • Position Reports to: Programs Manager
  • Duration of Employment: 6 Months with possible extension
  • Probation Period: Two months (Part time)
  • Expected start date: 16 April 2023 (Interviews will be set during application, and the right person will be selected upon application)
  • Location: Remote work, preference for individuals based in Lebanon

The Project Coordinator would be recruited to work on a part-time basis for different units, among which are the Monitoring and documentation Unit and Advocacy and Media unit.

Project Coordinator responsibilities include preparing comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. S/he will perform various coordinating tasks, including schedule, risk management, and administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation.

2. Scope of Work

The scope of work of this position includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

  • Monitor the implementation and progress of projects according to approved objectives, plan of action, and budget, and record progress; prepare a schedule for completion of the project in a systemic manner; ensure adherence to deadlines;
  • Keep track of all stages of projects by documenting and recording outcomes; identify challenges and suggest changes when needed;
  • Follow up on the implementation of all project activities with staff members;
  • Organize activities relevant to the project, such as virtual events, panel discussions, and workshops;
  • With the support of ACHR administrative staff, follow up on the administrative procedures regarding the project, including expense reports; keep a record of all project documents (hard and soft copies)
  • Prepare progress reports on the proceedings of the project in adherence with donor requirements when necessary.
  • Collecting data and conducting monitoring and evaluation activities per ACHR policies with the participation of ACHR staff where relevant; and
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary to achieve the project objectives according to the request of ACHR.

3. DELIVERABLES

The deliverables of the scope of work mentioned above include, but are not limited to, the following items:

  • Research papers and reports.
  • Smooth coordination with the team.
  • Monthly reports.
  • Weekly meeting minutes of M&D and A&M unit meetings.
  • Constant evaluation of M&D team members.
  • Regularly updated action plans for the units.

4. DESIRABLES:

4.1) Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, International Development studies, Political Sciences, economics, law or related studies; the degree may not be required if applicant has demonstrated that he/she has extensive experience in research and coordination.
  • Demonstrated depth of experience and effectiveness preferably in an NGO context in working with community/grassroots people and organizations.

4.2) Soft Skills

  • Experience in report writing, monitoring and evaluation of projects;
  • Strong ability to communicate in English and Arabic;
  • Proven ability to collaborate well and to deliver work in a timely manner.
  • Proven skills in coordination and leadership.
  • Strong organizational and programmatic skills.
  • Able to take initiative and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Remote management skills.
  • Coordination skills, problem solving, and flexibility in dealing with the team.
