USAID/Uganda is seeking for qualified individuals to fill the Project Management Assistant (PMA) position located in the USAID/Uganda Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG) office. The primary purpose of the PMA position is to provide administrative support to the DRG team in the areas of program management, preparing acquisition and assistance procurement documents, managing logistical support, providing technical expertise, managing professional relationships, collecting and disseminating project information and other operational duties, such as clerical and administrative functions – including scheduling meetings, maintaining DRG Office Director’s calendar, travel, and logistical support, drafting travel authorizations (TA), booking hotels, supporting TDY logistics and VIP visits, onboarding new staff, and other administrative support as required.
The PMA assists team members to achieve the office’s overall and specific program objectives in the areas of democracy, governance, accountability, human rights, rule of law, conflict prevention, political processes and civil society strengthening and may serve as the primary or alternate Agreement Officer’s Representative (AOR) or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) or activity manager, supporting DRG programs, if needed. In this capacity, the PMA will provide program support to programs being implemented by the DRG office. This support includes drafting documents, file management, accruals, Implementing Partner (IP) coordination and other program support activities as needed. The PMA’s role may include monitoring activity funding and working with IPs in a timely and effective manner to ensure that targeted results are achieved.
The PMA reports to the DRG Office Director or designee.
EDUCATION
Minimum of two years of College or University studies are required.
Studies can be in development studies/agriculture/environment/business administration/finance/accounting/international relations or similar fields.
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years of program/administrative/clerical experience is required.
