As part of the implementation of one of its future projects and subject to approval by the lessor, Terre des hommes is looking for a Project Manager.

The Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh), headquartered in Lausanne and with an office in Zurich, is the largest Swiss children’s rights organisation with over 2,000 employees worldwide. We work alongside children to guarantee their rights, protect their lives and improve their well-being. We achieve this through our innovative programmes in the areas of health, migration and access to justice, designed to have a positive and lasting impact.

Context :

Tdh has been present in Guinea since 1987. It currently operates in the areas of Health, including sexual and reproductive health, Migration, and Access to Justice. These three programs work in synergy and are enriched by cross-cutting expertise such as Cross-cutting Protection, WASH and ICT4D. Its approach has constantly favored local work in conjunction with the competent Guinean authorities and communities.

Main responsibilities:

  • The Project Manager is integrated into the Delegation’s Access to Justice Program. He/she is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the project’s activities, currently being validated by the donor, on strengthening social cohesion and the resilience of populations, and on the rehabilitation of prison infrastructure and support for minor and female prisoners;
  • Under the supervision of the Delegation Program Coordinator and the Regional Access to Justice Coordinator, she/he ensures the deployment of the project including the Access to Justice programmatic strategy;
  • he is responsible for the management and supervision of the Project team and compliance with Tdh HR Policies;
  • it guarantees quality implementation of the specific project including A2J projects, within deadlines and in line with the quality standards and norms of the regional A2J program and within the framework of Tdh’s global quality and accountability standards;
  • it contributes to securing the necessary resources (financial and human) within the delegation in conjunction with the relevant support services;
  • it contributes to programmatic management by setting up and monitoring indicators, in particular concerning the cross-cutting themes of its field;
  • it develops and promotes innovation within the A2J program;
  • He ensures the implementation of knowledge management and sharing; He ensures that his teams and partners are aware of the security policies and the global code of conduct and respect them at all times.

Profile

Training:

  • University degree in law, criminal science or political science
  • A master’s degree relevant to the position would be an added value

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven knowledge of access to justice for children in particular and child protection in general (including gender mainstreaming standards as a minimum in the sector).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a program management or similar position, ideally in Africa.
  • Proven experience in coordination, including at an international level.
  • Proven experience in issues related to justice and child protection.
  • Experience in the rehabilitation of prison infrastructure is an asset.
  • Proven experience in institutional support and representation, including before government authorities.
  • Strong experience in developing strategies and local partnerships.
  • Previous relevant experience and excellent human resources management and leadership skills

LANGUAGES :

  • Excellent French language skills. Fluency in English is an added value.
  • Good knowledge of local Guinean languages.

IT knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package

Salary :

Expatriate contract under Swiss law, monthly salary between CHF4,000 and CHF4,300 depending on experience x13 (+ AVS deduction for Swiss candidates). Insurance, illness, accident, repatriation. 25 days of leave/year. Return flight ticket/year.
