The senior project manager is responsible for the execution of projects carried out by different local partners in different locations in the country, including monitoring programmatic, financial, human resources and logistics management. Her work focuses on strengthening the capabilities of the local partner through accompaniment, joint work and the implementation of the strategy defined with the counterpart.

This profile is key in the implementation and strategy of Action Against Hunger in Venezuela and the growth of both the mission and the counterpart. Therefore, it contributes and feeds the organization’s reflection on localization (development of lessons learned).

The main activities you will perform are the following:

  • OBJECTIVE 1 : Implementation of contracts (leads), therefore, develops the following tasks: -works directly with the counterpart to ensure the good execution of project activities (activities, schedule); -ensures supervision of financial execution (monitoring of the BFU and purchasing plan); -ensures good information on the scope (monitoring plan); -Identifies training and technical support needs (TECs, M&E, FIN, LOG, HR) -Consolidates information for internal and donor reporting; participate in the lessons learned. -ensures correct application of ACH and, when applicable, donor procedures
  • OBJECTIVE 2: Contract planning, performed the following assignments: -in coordination with the partners and the coordination team, actively participates in the planning of the contracts that are part of the projects under their responsibility (times = schedule; scope = framework logical; resources = budget, logistical planning/monitoring, team); -prepares with the counterparty the tools for monitoring the contract/program (BFU, APR, Purchase Plan, Monitoring Plan); -prepares the first draft of the corresponding MoU
  • OBJECTIVE 3: Identification and writing of new proposals (participate), performing the following actions: -identifies opportunities/weaknesses, -provides relevant information to DPA and Technical Coordinators about the counterpart and the context (alliances, risks, etc.)
  • OBJECTIVE 4: Strategic contribution: performs the following tasks: -participates in the identification of mission needs and opportunities -participates in the definition of the mission’s programmatic priorities based on its knowledge of the capabilities/potential of the local partner -contributes and feeds the organization’s reflection on localization (development of lessons learned)
  • OBJECTIVES AND COMMITMENTS COMMON TO EVERY WORKER WITH INTERNAL POLICIES OF ACTION AGAINST HUNGER

Does this description fit you?

-University training, with specific preparation in project cycle management

-Extensive experience in project management with an INGO:

  • Knowledge of the guidelines and procedures of the main humanitarian donors.
  • Solid knowledge of project cycle management
  • Excellent ability to write reports and reports
  • Excellent capacity for building budgets and BFUs
  • Strong experience in knowledge creation and training

-Minimum experience of 5 years in a similar position. (Focus on NFI distribution desired)

-Spanish, French and advanced English (essential)

-Proficiency in Windows, advanced use of Excel is essential.

-Availability to have high geographic mobility in the country.

  • Compensation package: benefits covered by the organization according to the Action Against Hunger compensation policy
    1. Insurance for expatriate personnel: Health, Life, repatriation, travel.
    2. Two (2) trips for Breaks (R&R) per year according to the established reference area.
    3. Per Diem of 215 euros for each Break Trip (paid in Mission).
    4. Shared housing -Guest house-.
    5. Return ticket to country of origin.
    6. Vacation
  • Continuous training in technical areas.
