Project Manager At Syria Relief & Development

Syria Relief & Development (SRD) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid to Syrians affected by violence, hunger, poverty, injury and displacement. Our Mission is to provide crisis humanitarian relief and plant the seeds of sustainable development for the people of Syria. Our Vision is to maintain humanitarian relief and mobilize resources to develop a comprehensive agenda for sustainable development in Syria.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that SRD’s policy and operational interests in the area of Protection (protection/GBV) and Reproductive health are actively represented.
  • Support implementation of the Minimum Standards for Reproductive health/GBV / Protection in Humanitarian Action
  • Manage projects and oversee project teams
  • Consult directly with donors; develop relationships and regularly communicate with current donors
  • Develop and implement clear project plans, budgets, timelines, develop strategies for team engagement, oversee project teams to ensure high quality delivery on-time and on-budget
  • Escalate project risks or issues appropriately to leadership
  • Lead internal and external project planning and kick-off; facilitate regular project team meetings with SRD and donors.
  • Manage resources within and between project teams, develop reports and submit on time
  • Remain informed on new technologies, methodologies, and tools relevant to NGOs

  • Fluency/proficiency in English and Arabic required
  • People management experience

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management or business administration — what you studied isn’t critical; what you’re passionate about is
  • 4-6 years of professional experience
  • At least one of the following:
  • Supporting the management of a protection/GBV/health implementation project
  • Good understanding of Reproductive health and GBV integrated programming in emergencies;
  • Experience in planning or managing events to budget
  • Overseeing tight budgets on small teams
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute on project work plans, including effective management of budget and timelines
  • 5+ years managing ongoing protection or health projects
