Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of our initiative focused on Strengthening Social Cohesion by Empowering Communities to Lead Early Recovery Processes Together. This project is designed to build the resilience of conflict-affected communities in Northwest Syria by promoting peaceful coexistence, fostering local leadership, and reducing conflict risks through dialogue, peaceful conflict resolution, and community-led recovery initiatives.

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of all activities of the project. You will work closely with community stakeholders, Local Protection and Peace Committees, and partner organizations to ensure the successful delivery of project activities that promote social cohesion, peacebuilding, and community empowerment. Your role will involve managing project staff, liaising with donors, and ensuring that project objectives are met within the allocated timeline and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall implementation of the project in alignment with its objectives and goals.
• Develop and maintain work plans, budgets, and reports to ensure timely execution of project activities.
• Oversee the establishment and capacity building of Local Protection and Peace Committees, ensuring they are equipped to conduct community dialogues, resolve local conflicts peacefully, and lead community-based peace initiatives.
• Foster relationships with local authorities, community leaders, CBOs, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and participation.
• Oversee the organization and delivery of community dialogue sessions, awareness-raising campaigns, and capacity-building training.
• Monitor project outcomes, ensuring all activities are implemented according to organizational standards, timelines, and donor requirements.
• Manage project staff, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team.
• Ensure proper financial management and reporting in compliance with donor and organizational policies.
• Regularly report to senior management and donors on progress, challenges, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Turkish Citizenship (mandatory).
• A bachelor’s degree in social sciences, International Development, Conflict Resolution, Peace Studies, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in peacebuilding, social cohesion, or community recovery initiatives.
• Proven experience working in conflict-affected regions, particularly in projects focused on peacebuilding, community empowerment, or early recovery.
• Demonstrated experience in leading multi-stakeholder collaborations, including government authorities, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project staff.
• Knowledge of donor-funded project management, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting.
• Fluent in Arabic and proficient in English.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of protection mainstreaming and working with vulnerable groups, including women, children, and displaced populations.
• Familiarity with peacebuilding and conflict resolution methodologies.
• Understanding of the humanitarian context in Northwest Syria, with prior work experience in cross-border projects considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with digital tools for project management and reporting.
