Within the Education and Fight against Child Poverty Structure, the resource will assume the role of Coordinator of the European project CERV – “ Inclusive Child Participation Networks” .
Project Abstract :
“ The Inclusive Child Participation Networks project will strengthen systemic and inclusive child participation initially in 11 European countries by working on 3 specific objectives:
1. strengthening, innovating and mainstreaming child participation in national and local level decision making and in EU policy making;
2. empowering children, with a focus on children who are most at risk of exclusion and less represented, to actively participate in decision making processes at all levels
3. strengthening the capacity of national, regional and local authorities, and of child participation mechanisms to make child participation inclusive and systemic.
The European Network on Inclusive Child Participation, whose activities will be co-designed and co-implemented with a child group, will bring together the local and national coordinated initiatives on child participation and leverage these efforts towards the EU level and in connection with the EU Children’s Participation Platform.
Mirrored actions will be implemented at local, national and European level, such as: coordination activities, Competence Centers on Inclusive, Meaningful and Safe Child Participation, learning opportunities, child-led groups to co-design and co-implement activities of the project, pilot activities enacting a full participation process and awareness raising campaigns.
The consortium, led by Save the Children Italy, is formed out of 18 partners.
5 organizations are working at European level: Save the Children Europe and SOS Children’s Villages International, together with the inclusion partners of the project: Plan International Belgium, the European Roma Grasroots Organizations – ERGO Network and the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) Youth & Student Organisation.
Working at national level, the consortium is composed of 9 Save the Children organizations (IT, FI, LT, NL, ES, AL, PL, RO and DK) and 4 SOS Children’s Villages organizations (IT, FI, GR and BG) . ”
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Project Management and Budget : Ensure effective management of activities and budget, ensuring that all actions are aligned with project objectives
- Representation : Represent Save the Children Italy in external communications and institutional meetings, both nationally and internationally.
- Coordination : Manage and coordinate the project activities, organizing monitoring meetings and ensuring effective governance. Also coordinate the implementation of the activities assigned to Save the Children Italy, in synergy with the Youth Movement area and the Networking area and under the supervision of the Project Steering Committee.
- Communication with Partners : Maintain constant contact with consortium members, updating partners on project progress and defining appropriate communication channels.
- Monitoring and Evaluation : Collaborate with the MEAL Area to monitor the project, collecting data and updating the operational plan in accordance with the donor’s guidelines both with reference to the activities in Italy and those in charge of the other partners in other European countries
- Partner Activity Supervision : Monitor compliance with deadlines and deliverables agreed with partners, ensuring that reporting is complete and adequate.
- Reporting : Responsible for producing narrative reporting and collaborating on financial reporting, maintaining active communications with the donor.
- Expenditure Planning : Work with the Grant Office to prepare expenditure forecasts and update the project procurement plan.

- Logistics and Operations : Manage the procedural aspects of the project, coordinating with relevant functions to ensure efficient implementation of activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Manage relationships with all stakeholders involved, working in synergy with the consortium and enhancing expertise in youth participation
- Valorisation and coordination : valorise the expertise on youth participation developed by the Youth Movement area, ensuring constant dialogue with the PAIR Management as well as with all the projects/programmes that promote participation in the National Programmes.
- Quality and Results Monitoring : Evaluate the quality, time and costs of activities, contributing to the identification of corrective measures when necessary.
FINAL RESULTS
- All ICPN project activities are completed according to the pre-established timeline.
- Project deliverables are completed and meet the agreed quality level.
STUDIES, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in cooperation, education, human rights.
- At least 10 years of experience in coordinating and managing complex international projects (preferably on this funding line).
- Management skills, ability to plan and implement even complex projects in terms of size of interventions, territorial articulation, presence of networks of implementing entities.
- Knowledge of the project life cycle in development and/or emergency contexts and of the MEAL ( Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning ) approach.
- Excellent knowledge of Result Based Management.
- Proven experience of working on youth participation.
- Previous relational experience with international and institutional interlocutors.
LANGUAGE/IT SKILLS
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
