Project Officer At Plan International

The Project Officer will assist Plan International’ project implementation, supporting Plan Partner during the programme monitoring and implementation.

The Project Officer will report to the Head of Programmes and work closely with the Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist. The Project Officer will be expected to work alongside Plan International’s partner civil society organizations and support the program implementation.

Technical Support and Implementation

  • Ensure that the implementation of relevant activities is planned and implemented in a phased and prioritised manner adhering to agreed timeline and budget, in full consultation and coordination with the HoP.
  • Work closely with the CPiE Specialist and follow and implement technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the agreed child protection activities.
  • Work alongside Plan’s local partners to implement and monitor project activities and budget, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments that are needed.
  • Support the Local Partner, in collaboration with the Finance Manager, overseeing project budget- monitoring expenditures, generating funds forecasts, tracking partner expenditures maintaining all necessary information for the timely development of financial reports.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning

  • Work with the M&E Officer to review data on indicators related to program activities.
  • Update the M&E plan for the project for tracking progress towards targets and as needed

Essential

Knowledge

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Knowledge of child rights, child protection, and child development concepts and practices.
  • General administration, information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills
  • University degree in social work, a social science or another related field.

Experience

  • Previous professional experience in working with child-focused or child protection mandated civil society organizations or government agencies
  • Previous experience in project implementation monitoring, including developing and monitoring workplans and writing project reporting

Skills

  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of the Polish language is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of child protection standards related to humanitarian action, such as the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, considered an asset.
