The Opportunity- Project Officer, based in Belgrade, Serbia, with frequent travel within the region

The Project Officer will work within the Balkans Migration and Displacement Hub (BMDH) team and the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting ambitious new projects and engaging in regular coordination and consultation with local partners and the Ukraine response team, as well as Save the Children offices in Poland and Romania.

The post holder will provide inputs during the planning, implementation, and completion of the project, monitor progress of project activities, and ensure timely completion of deliverables in accordance with Save the Children’s tools and standards. The main purpose of this role is to support the establishing and implementation of a comprehensive capacity building programme between the Balkans and the Ukraine response team, as well as Save the Children offices in Poland and Romania.

The Project Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, facilitating, monitoring, and documenting all Save the Children’s internal and external capacity building-related activities and processes within the project framework.

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

Qualifications and experience:
* Work experience in project implementation; preferably in the civil society environment;
* Good understanding of current international issues, particularly in migration, displacement, and child rights;
* Excellent communication skills – ability to relate with staff, partners, and government authorities;
* A flexible and initiative-taking attitude with the ability to manage and prioritise an unpredictable workload.
* Willingness to travel to Poland, Ukraine, Romania, and other countries and adapt to changing work practices and hours;
* Proficiency in supporting capacity building through training and exchanges;
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet strict deadlines with quality outputs;
* Fluent in written and spoken English.

Contract length: 9-month contract with a 3-month probation period.
