DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Implementation and Planning:
Together with the SPO, carry out implementation of field activities under the Governance and Regulatory Compliance pillar of the CCOSP, as per the project’s Annual Work Plan (AWP);
Ensure a farmer centered, participatory and stakeholder inclusive approach in the implementation of the project activities at all levels;
Work together with the project staff to ensure synergy and integration of the project intervention, in the manner that ensures efficiency and cost saving;
Prepare inputs and regular updates to detailed programme specific work plans, action plans, reporting on issues and lessons learned in partnership with the implementing unions, societies and target cocoa-growing communities and stakeholders of the programme;
Technical support:
Provide technical support and facilitate preparation, review and evaluation of HREDD plans;
Support unions and societies to sensitize their members and engage key partners on HREDD, EUDR and ARS;
Facilitate sensitization of union and community members at cooperative, society and community levels on HREDD, EUDR and ARS;
Provide technical support (coaching and targeted training) for union and society leaders to develop their governance and leadership skills;
Support implementation of interventions to put in place (or strengthen) the governance, management systems and protocols at the union and society levels;
Provide targeted coaching for members of specific sub-committees at the union and society levels and ensure their effective functioning;
Provide training for ordinary cooperative members to build understanding of the union governance, processes and services to encourage dissemination;
Provide support to the SPO in the conduct of thematic trainings on organizational development and regulatory compliance for unions, societies and key stakeholders;
Support the timely mobilization of project communities and service providers in accordance with the AWP;
Provide requisite technical advice and information to union and society leaders as well as community actors, where necessary.
Provide technical support to unions, societies and communities to ensure planned deliverables are met in good quality and in a timely manner as per the AWP;
Programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning:
Prepare accurate and reliable field activity reports in close coordination with the SPO;
Support the project MEL officer in the implementation of the M&E system;
Support the MEL officer in the preparation of timely reports on progress, achievements, and challenges; Ensure identification, documentation and synthesis of experiences, good practices and lesson learned under the programme for organizational sharing and learning;
Contribute to the development of relevant knowledge products, knowledge networks and communities of practice;
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualifications, with at least 5 years of solid experience in implementing projects in one or more of the following fields: Farmer Certification, Cocoa Sustainability, Institutional Capacity Building for CBOs (specifically cocoa cooperatives); Community Development.
Understanding of the regulations affecting the cocoa sector
Proven experience in project activity implementation, including a demonstrated ability to deliver agreed outcomes and time management skills;
Strong community mobilization and relationships building skills;
Effective communications skills and ability to establish a good working relationship with farmers, communities and stakeholders;
Proven training experience in delivering formal training sessions to coaching one-onone to support introduction of new systems and practices;
Demonstrated openness to change and ability to solve problems and manage complexities;
Ability to travel under harsh conditions within the project operational area whenever required;
Excellent team building skills.
Language skills:
Fluency in English and Twi are essential.
