ROLE PURPOSE
The Project Officer shall provide technical support to the project implementation ensuring that the strategies set by the country office for the thematic areas of health, child rights governance and the cross-cutting theme of child protection, risk reduction and resilience, gender equality and disability inclusion guides the project. The Project Officer shall ensure that the project demonstrates a developmental approach to urban programming defined with the active participation of children and relevant stakeholders. She/He works closely with the Program Development Quality Unit to make certain that the quality of program work meets the benchmarks.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 4 years of experience in development work
- Background in one or more of the following: health, immunization, health promotion, communications and communications technology, child rights programming
- Has experience successfully working with the local government health offices or the Department of Health regional and national offices
- Strong writing skills in both English and Filipino
- Effective communication and facilitation skills demonstrated by skills and knowledge in using various tools in simplifying concepts and frameworks in communicating with a wide range of audiences related to the program including children.
- Critical thinking which is demonstrated by the ability to resolve program issues and integrate programs.
- Experience in facilitating community and child participation, use of child rights approaches, gender development and inclusion principles in development or humanitarian settings.
- Resilience to stress, can tolerate working under ambiguous circumstances), high flexibility to abrupt changes and can multitask
- Strong sense of urgency and work ethics particularly in timeliness (organizing and prioritizing) and quality in programming.
- Understands and believes in Save the Children’s mission and vision; commits to its objectives and willing to adopt Save the Children’s methodology and framework.
