Project Officer – SIDA At Save the Children

ROLE PURPOSE

The Project Officer is responsible for providing support to the Child Protection and Child Rights Governance (CPCRG) components of the Sida CSO Appropriations Award. This work includes: (1) support to scoping of possible CSO partners ;(2) conducting trainings and other capacity-building activities related to the Sida grant; (3) Assisting in project/program monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL); (4) serves as a focal in the preparation of the 2022 project proposal and 2021 end of project report; (5) Managing consultants hired under the Sida grant; (6) provides support to engagements with the Child Rights Network and other partners (7) liase with other units to monitor researches and activities funded by Sida and (8) prepare short written updates of key milestones of the Sida project.

The position will be supervised by the Senior Manager for Child Protection and Child Rights Governance (SM CPCRG) and will closely coordinate with relevant SCP Technical Advisers, members of the CPCRG Team, Awards, Finance, Supply Chain, Admin and IT teams and with other program managers in the Luzon/Visayas and Mindanao field offices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years relevant experience in research and information, advocacy and networking with local civil society organizations, national line agencies and local government units in regular or humanitarian programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Social Sciences, Communication Research, Public Administration, Development Studies, Community Development; or equivalent experience
  • Strong research skills, with demonstrated skills in designing research studies, implementing various research methods, processing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and preparing research reports
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in working in civil society organizations, preferably with some exposure to coalition work
  • Can deal with various civil society stakeholders, including CSO networks, media, academe and children/young people
  • Has proven skills in training management, facilitation and documentation
  • Has ability to work effectively with other individuals and in teams
  • Computer literate and adept in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Can work well in stressful situations
  • Willing to work additional hours (when necessary) toward the attainment of program objectives and deliverables
  • Highly organized, with good attention to detail and developed ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines and organize work
  • Understands and believes in Save the Children’s mission and vision; commits to its objectives and willing to adopt Save the Children’s methodology and framework.
  • Willing to travel to any part of the country and be deployed for both humanitarian response and development programming
  • Experience in working in humanitarian response contexts is desirable
