Job Purpose

The WASH program officer will assist the program manager on following up on the daily WASH activities: Water, Sanitation, Hygiene promotion and Hygiene kits distribution activities in the camps.

Chain of Command

Under the authority of: WASH Senior Officer

Responsible for:

Wash assistants

PR officer/assistant.

Objectives

WASH Officer is expected to technically support the Senior officer and supervise the rest of the WASH team in technical and practical aspects, as well as following up with operational tasks (finance, procurement etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring services to IDPs in camps
• Assist the program manager on following up on order forms and ongoing procurements. In addition of updating tracking the tracking tools.
• Keeping track and proper filing, to all documents related to program including (activities tracking sheets, Signed MoUs, vendor’s technical evaluation).
• Provide support the field regarding the weekly reports.
• Support the program manager in conducting Hygiene promotion trainings to support the field staff.
• Following up with HR on the ongoing staff recruitment.
• Any other tasks delegated from his/her supervisor.

· 90% success rate of handling and finalizing the tasks given by the senior officer.

· # of Monthly reports submitted in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in civil, electrical, mechanical or Water engineering

· Minimum 2years of Engineering experience. Working in Humanitarian Organization in WASH department is highly desired.

· Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, working with as a team member.

· Strong initiative and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principle.

· Ability to multitask with competing demands under tight deadlines and work under pressure.

· Fully computer literate (Microsoft Office) and AutoCAD is a must and other engineering software knowledge is an asset.

· Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken), and good in English.

· Residence in Idleb governorate
