Project Technician International Cooperation Renewable Energies At Plan International

Mission of the position

Ensure the technical and economic-financial implementation of the renewable energy and climate change development projects carried out by Plan International Spain.

MAIN FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review project proposals and ensure that they comply with the rules and regulations required by the different donors, both from a programmatic/technical and economic/financial point of view.
  • Support country offices in the execution, monitoring and follow-up of projects.
    Ensure correct financial execution following the requirements of the donor and Plan International.
  • Ensure the quality of technical and economic reports delivered to donors
  • Travel to country offices to verify progress, consistency and level of compliance, as well as collect the necessary information for the preparation and monitoring of projects.
  • Develop action plans and follow up with stakeholders to ensure issues have been addressed.
  • Manage the donor’s post-closing audit (financial evaluation and audit).
  • Work with local partners to respond to audit findings and highlight project evaluation risks and concerns.
  • Support the requirements of any donor of previously implemented projects.
  • Provide technical support to projects in the portfolio, intervention countries and Plan International Spain in relation to the areas of renewable energy, youth entrepreneurship, climate change and gender.
  • Participate in specific working groups to advance Plan International Spain’s strategy in relation to the areas of renewable energy, youth economic development, climate change, etc.
  • Interact with the rest of the areas of Plan International Spain to respond to the needs that arise in matters specific to the area.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • University training in Environmental Sciences, engineering or similar.
  • Postgraduate training in international cooperation and specific education in environmental matters (renewable energies, adaptation and mitigation against climate change, green employment, etc.).
  • Experience of at least 3 years in a similar position in projects related to one or more of these topics: climate change, nature-based livelihoods, renewable energies and economic development
  • Experience in gender and inclusion approach.
  • Valuable direct experience in the field.
  • Valuable experience in projects financed by INTPA, AECID, decentralized cooperation and other international donors.
