What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Protection Cluster Co-Coordinator to join the Myanmar mission. The role holder will work in partnership with UNHCR, to provide leadership and ensure a well-coordinated, strategic, coherent, and effective Protection response in Myanmar. He/she will be responsibility for ensuring that the Protection Cluster is informed by NGO perspectives, and for ensuring that the NGO membership is contributing to, and sharing, Protection Cluster responsibilities. The Co-Coordinator will contribute to the development of the active engagement and technical capacity of members of the Protection Cluster.

What you will do

  • Planning and strategy development, including a cluster strategy.
  • Humanitarian partners inclusion for the cluster.
  • Humanitarian coordination mechanisms establishment and maintenance.
  • Participatory and community based approaches in cluster needs assessment, analysis, planning, monitoring, and response.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and analysis for the Protection Cluster.
  • Advocacy and resource mobilisation.
  • Capacity-building, guidance and facilitate trainings and workshops for staff, cluster partners, and relevant counterparts.
  • Donor reporting.
  • Protection documentation development.

What you will bring

  • Advanced degree.
  • Protection experience in a humanitarian assistance.
  • Cluster systems, procedures, and governance structures expertise.
  • Humanitarian response and coordination mechanisms, and humanitarian reform understanding.
  • Protection matters within UN agencies exposure.
  • Complex, and volatile context exposure.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

The Co-coordinator will be reporting to NRC for all contractual arrangements and will be accountable to the NGOs partners of the cluster.

What we offer

  • Yangon, Myanmar duty station, subject to receiving appropriate documentation. The successful candidate will be expected to work from home/remotely for extended periods of time.
  • 24-month contract duration (renewable, subjecting to funding, performance, and requirements).
  • 25% travel, approximately.
  • Grade 8 in NRC’s Salary Scale, with accompanying terms and conditions. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
