Protection Information Management Technical Officer NCA&M – Tegucigalpa Honduras (National Only) At Norwegian Refugee Council

1. Objective

With a strong focus on quality and technical support, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving the implementation of programs and projects. The Technical Information Management Officer will be responsible for the management of Protection information and data analysis.

2. Main Functions

The Technical Information Management Officer – PROLAC will work under the direct supervision of the Protection Specialist, assuming the following responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement and review the information management system to support the evidence-based decision-making process.
  2. Ensure the correct implementation of the regional protection information management system, including data management methodologies, tools, guides, data analysis and visualization processes.
  3. The manager will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting, storing and exchanging information in a coordinated and systematic manner.
  4. Contribute to keeping the regional information management system on protection monitoring up to date through data collection and consolidation.
  5. Ensure training of internal staff and relevant partners to generate quality and timely data and information to improve evidence-based programming, protection monitoring analysis and advocacy actions.
  6. Regularly produce protection monitoring information management products, including protection monitoring dashboards, protection monitoring reports at specific points, such as borders or  hotspots , as well as at national and regional levels, thematic reports and rapid reports based on primary and secondary data sources.
  7. Explore new and innovative ways of collecting, analyzing, reporting and storing data.
  8. Conduct ongoing monitoring and provide feedback on how to improve program processes for data collection, entry, storage, analysis, and reporting.

3. Required professional skills

  • Professional in social sciences, economics, international relations, statistics, administrative sciences or related careers
  • At least three or four years of work experience in systematization, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes in social and/or humanitarian projects,
  • Knowledge and work experience in management, systematization of information and database cleaning.
  • Knowledge and experience in tools for data collection, management, analysis and reporting (Kobo toolbox, statgraphics etc, Power BI)
  • technical English.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Preferably with experience in international cooperation projects.
  • Knowledge in the area of ​​Protection will be valued.
  • Broad knowledge of highly vulnerable and socially marginalized populations.
