Psychologists (M/F) France Mission – Ile De France Project At Doctors Without Borders

Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. The French section is present in around thirty countries.

As part of a replacement, we are looking for two:

Mission France – Ile de France Project

Context :

MSF has three areas of activity in its Ile de France project:

– A day center for unaccompanied minors (MNA): access to legal and social support, access to somatic and mental health care, referrals to common law), located in Pantin (93);

– An accommodation system for boys and girls, with educational support, located in the 93;

– A Mobile Clinic made up of a multidisciplinary team (medical-social) operating in the Ile de France region

Job Objectives:

In a context of comprehensive care, as part of the mental health care pathway and in line with their journey within the structure: Provide psychological support to Unaccompanied Minors, but also to other beneficiaries of the project, in accordance with MSF principles, standards and procedures in order to improve their mental health.

Main responsibilities:

In accordance with MSF principles and protocols and with the support of the Head of the Mental Health Unit:

Individual and group support:

· Identify and assess the psychological support needs of Unaccompanied Minors in Day Care and accommodation, but also of other accommodated beneficiaries.

· Propose and implement individual and/or collective support systems adapted to the issues identified (individual consultations and group activities) and consistent with the path and time taken to support young people by the project.

· Initiate and lead group activities (stress management techniques, etc.).

Directions:

Refer young people, as needed, urgently or not, to common law structures and other mental health partners adapted to each individual:

· Young people with psychiatric disorders/emergencies;

· Provide psychotherapeutic support;

· Ensure follow-up of orientations.

Ensuring the quality of interventions in the interests of beneficiaries:

· Inform the Head of the Mental Health Unit of any technical or operational questions or difficulties likely to hinder psychological care or smooth operational functioning, with the aim of improving the mental health services provided to patients;

· Promote a global approach to patient care: collaborate with the different project divisions while respecting patient confidentiality;

· Participate in meetings with other project poles and multidisciplinary meetings.

Participate in the qualitative and quantitative monitoring of the activity and the project:

· Inform the Mental Health Unit Manager of any questions or problems that may arise in connection with the treatment, in order to provide the best possible care for the patient.

· Report on his/her activity to the Mental Health Unit Manager: writing monthly reports.

· Record the data necessary for patient monitoring in the MSF database, according to the established protocol.

· Participate in advocacy and communication activities.

Profile sought

Education : Master 2 or DESS in Clinical Psychology. Trauma and Transcultural specialties desired. Specialization in Clinic and group theory is a plus.

Experience :

· Minimum 2 years of experience with individual psychological/psychotherapeutic support

· Experience with an audience of adolescent girls or young people with specific issues linked to a complex migratory journey (violence, control, trafficking, prostitution, etc.) required.

· Group setup and animation

· Experience within MSF or another NGO is a plus

Languages: French. English desirable. Arabic, Farsi, Bambara is an asset.

Status :

A fixed-term contract (CDD) for 6 months.

A fixed-term contract (CDD) 12 months

Terms :

€3,095.87 gross monthly over 13 months. 22 days of RTT per year. Health insurance 100% covered by Médecins Sans Frontières. Meal vouchers with a face value of €11.00 (60% covered by MSF). 50% coverage of public transport tickets or equivalent.
