Psychosocial Practitioner Location: North West England Hours per week: 14hrs over x2 days (Ideally Thursdays and Fridays) Contract type: Fixed Term Contract until the 15th May 2022 Salary: circa ?39,000 (pro rata per annum and dependent on experience)

Could you provide psychosocial support to staff and volunteers of the British Red Cross across the North West of England?

What you will be doing

**

As a Psychosocial Practitioner, you will provide support to our staff and volunteers who deliverservices across the region. You will provide psychosocial support in the form of reflective practice, clinical supervision groups and one to one individual support during site visits. You will support our UK Operations services and work closely with staff and volunteers within our Refugee and Restoring Family Links and Independent Living and Crisis Response teams.

You will be responsible for providing clinical supervision and supporting the wellbeing needs of the workforce who, in turn support people in crisis.

You will also deliver workshops and off-site support, whilst considering the preferences and requests of the local service’s wishes and the learning of the wider Psychosocial and Mental Health Team.

Travel will be required across the geographic areas covered by the role holder. This may include making overnight stays.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract.Role holders will require to be available to attend Psychosocial and Mental Health team meetings once per month. These meetings take place on a Thursday or Friday.**

The successfulcandidate(s) will initially work from home due to Covid-19 restrictions and will thereafter be based from our office location in Manchester**

This role might be for you if…

  • You will have a relevant mental health qualification (e.g. Postgraduate Degree or other professional qualification) in a profession related to psychosocial support (e.g. Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychotherapy or Social Work).
  • You will have proven post-qualification work experience (e.g. in-service development, voluntary or statutory sector, either in U.K. or overseas)
  • You have experience and professional expertise in trauma reactions, mental health issues and the management and negotiation of complex situations involving staff/volunteer welfare
